Lunch

A Day!

Yikes! My day has NOT gone as planned πŸ™ It started out with such great intentions, too. After I had breakfast I decided to go to the Farmer’s Market in Kissimmee, which is every Thursday morning and about 25 minutes from my house. It was wonderful. I got EVERYTHING (even the herbs: jamaican cilantro, basil and parsley) for only 20 bucks!!! Can you believe that?

I got:

4 sweet potatoes

a HUGE bunch of jalapino peppers

1 red bell pepper

4 pears

a big thing of green grapes

a bunch of carrots, the biggest I’ve ever seen

1 lemon, 2 limes

3 onions

garlic

a pile of red potatoes

2 plums

….for 20 dollars. It was fantastic. I will definitely be back. But then…the drama starts. I was driving back and rear-ended someone! This really never happens…I’m a pretty good driver even though I’ve had my fair share of speeding tickets when I was a teenager. I felt awful and we both pulled over and I had zero damage at all to my car but she had a tiny dent. So…she insisted we file a police report. I complied of course and when the cops got there they totally sympathized with me because, really, there was such a tiny dent in her car and she was totally fine. But then….she said her shoulder hurt and it all went down from there. The fire department came. The ambulance came. The state trooper came. I walked away with a $120 ticket and she drove away fine, insisting once the ambulance got there (that she demanded come), that she was okay and didn’t need to see a doctor after all. Lovely. Oh and then there was the armed robbery of the bank near the grocery store and the hour of traffic I sat in…….joy, it’s been a day.

I finally got home, HOURS later, and made a quick lunch of a veggie burger in a pita with FYH cheese and ketchup with an apple. I’m still full from it and I ate 3 hours ago….I guess I’m just still a little shaken up at the day. I did drink one of those POM ice teas (peach) though at the store and that sort of filled me up as well.

Since my day was spent waiting for the cops to come on the side of the road (it took 2 hours), I didn’t get anything done that I needed to and now I feel behind. I need to exercise away some frustrations clearly!

I bumped the back of a guy in a lexus once and he pulled over looked at the tiny and i mean TINY scratch in his bumper and goes “eh oh well, just go”. My car angel was on my side that day. πŸ™‚

that’s a bummer, jenna! at least you didn’t get caught in a scam. the same thing happened to me a few years ago–no damage to either car but the woman complained of back pain and wanted to sue. fortunately, that never came to pass. apparently she was driving illegaly as it was.

anyway, shake it off and go for a run or something. that always helps me clear my head.

take care!!!! can’t wait to see the pretty cakes.

    oh-speaking of cakes!
im going to a graduate school/work party on saturday at my boss’ house. i am supposed to bring a dessert, but i am being SO indecisive because i love baking and dont have an too many opportunities–there are 1,000 different desserts i’d love to make.

    i was thinking a tiramisu–but can’t affored marscaopne for 20 servings.
if anyone has ideas for a yummy dessert i can make for a crowd, i’d love to hear them (they can be healthy ideas too, i wont discriminate;)

ugh, just reading about that lady makes me so angry! i want to punch her in the face for you so that she’ll actually have something to hurt about. sorry about your semi-crappy day – at least the farmer’s market brought some good into your day!

What a crazy day! You deserve a pat on the back for being a team player and waiting for that woman. She sounds like a fruitcake and drama queen. I once got rear ended and the guy actually did leave a mark but, you know what, I told him it was no big deal. “So what” if you get a little mark? Yes it’s nice to keep your things nice but please, it’s just stuff. People put toooo much value on their belongings.

    Jenna,

I sat in the bank robbery traffic too on the way to the YMCA. Sucks, but things happen I guess.

Oh and I have rear-ended someone before too and AM a good driver I swear! Don’t sweat it too badly. One lady tried to sue my insurance for like, $300k in an accident years back. She didn’t even get checked out but was evidently near death days later… go figure! Some people are just… well, bad people.

Anyways, God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. πŸ™‚
