Does it feel like Monday to anyone else but me??! All day yesterday I kept thinking it was Sunday and today is definitely Monday. But……I’m super excited that its actually FRIDAY because Caitlin’s wedding is tomorrow and I can’t wait to go and see her!!!! I haven’t been back in O-town since I moved last September and I also have to stop by my school and pick up my nice new graduation uniform (!!) since January 17th is quickly approaching!
I woke up at 4:30 to find a big furry beast, formally known as Dexter, sleeping ON my head. He was seriously using my head as a pillow. No wonder I was hot! I moved him to his spot on the bed then fell back asleep until 7:30.
For breakfast I had a waffle sandwich with maple cinn waffles, hazelnut butter, preserves and a banana:
Another reason I am stoked its Friday (not Monday)—-I get to go to a brand new yoga class! I have been thinking about it all week and the only day this new class is offered is Friday. Its called “Yoga Grooves” and here is the description:
“A strong yoga practice infused with infectious grooves that add a new dimension to the traditional Power/Flow style. Enjoy exploring asana while listening to great music that aligns seamlessly to your own internal rhythm.”
I LOVE practicing to music. My studio in Charleston had power yoga classes where we blasted the Rolling Stones, Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and just flowed. Amazing. I have been searching for something like that here but so far have come up with nothing. Until this class. Hopefully its all that I have made it up to be in my head!
Initially I was going to ride my bike because Yogani is only about 5 miles from my house. However, I think I want to practice riding with my yoga mat on my back first before I do it for real. I have an incredibly long and heavy mat and have a hard time even fitting it into a yoga bag! I need to do a trial run first 😉
Happy Monday! I mean Friday! =)

Hooray!! Glad you’re still enjoying the hazelnut-butter – have you had a chance to try the others that I sent?? No rush/obligation, of course 🙂

January 2, 2009 at 8:53 amHey Jenna, one of my best friends got an awesome backpack at the North Face outlet in Orlando that had a strap on the bottom for her yoga mat. Now she rides around like a maniac with it and she’s a pro!

January 2, 2009 at 9:07 amLove your blog and have been reading it for some time now! How long were you in Charleston? I used to live there and miss it terribly 🙁 The yoga place you are talking about in Charleston – was it Blue Turtle yoga near king street?
Hope you’re having a fantastic New Year and thank you for the continual inspiration!

January 2, 2009 at 10:27 amLauren,
Yes! I was a member of Eco Fitness/Blue Turtle Yoga for about 2 1/2 years and loved every second of it. I miss yoga classes there all the time!! 🙁

January 2, 2009 at 9:14 amI’ve given up on trying to keep track of the days! I hope the new yoga class is as awesome as it sounds, and I love that you’re so into biking now. It’s like the perfect combination of being able to move quickly without a huge amount of effort, but also — strangely — having to work at it (but being able to see the result of that work in distance actually traveled, unlike at the gym).

January 2, 2009 at 9:29 amHey Jenna- I like your blog but don’t comment much. I go to Corepower Yoga studios here in Denver. All of their vinyasa-C2 and C3 classses are heated to about 100 degrees and practiced with VERY loud upbeat music, and we just flow the entire time. Its the most awesome studio I’ve found. You should look it up online and see if there are any in your area. I know they have them in Cali and Oregon too but not sure about FL. Sounds like you’ve got a great practice going. Yoga has completely changed my life since I started about 2 years ago. Hope your class lives up to the expectations 🙂
