Early this morning, my dad sent me some old family photos that he scanned in. Before we say anything at all about the helmet head bangs on the ridiculously good looking girl above, let’s talk about dress.
The dress that led to a lifelong obsession with food.
The fruit dress.
Now this photo is special. It was taken right before my parents were married, in their matching fancy TWA uniforms. They lovingly refer to that time together as “BK”, or “before kids” when they carefreely traveled around the globe together.
They were models, too. Can’t you tell?
Here I am with my beloved first puppy, Belmont. Note that I grew out of my orange skin tone.
Oh, and this? I have no idea who this is. No idea at all.

I heart this post so much!
You have got some good-looking parents there!
Glad to see I made the BLOG!
Love Dad……
Awwww, you are such a cutie pie, Jenna!
So cool! I often daydream about magically having the time to scan in all my old photos from way back…Always a delight to take a trip down memory lane (almost always).
I agree with Jaime! Love it.
In fact, I think this is one of my very favorite ELR posts!
That last picture is brilliant. Look at your tiny ankles! All the pictures are great.
Thanks for sharing.
LOVE! I had a dress and an apron that I spun around in singing “The hilllllls are alive!!” I had the bangs, too. All the cool kids did!
Love the pictures! In the last picture, were you dressed as Kirsten, the american girl doll?
that’s what i thought too!!!
Ha! That last picture is classic!
Love the bonnet. I had several just like it. Thanks for the throw back to my Laura Ingalls Wilder days. Sigh… that was a good phase!!
the pictures are awesome!!!!!
I wish that an electronic care package arrived in my inbox with all kinds of old “real” pictures scanned in…oh, what a FABULOUS gift!
The nightmare that is my actual, real, non-digital photographs from my childhood….well, one day, one day, I’d like to get them digitalized.
Til then, I can admire yours. I love these! And the fruit dress and your amazing looking parents, too!
Too cute! Love these snap shots from the past Jenna. Great post
Now we know where you get your good looks!
How ’bout a “Little House on the Prairie”-themed dinner party?
What a great idea! I concur.
I’m also jealous of the insane love that your parents and you share for each other
Pure awesome.
Okay you and your parents are adorable…. that pic of them in the matching out fits is precious!!!!
It’s Laura Ingalls Wilder in the flesh! Woo hoo! You were a cutie!
I LOVE looking at old photos. I also love watching old family videos. : )
Not sure if you here this all the time, but you look just like your dad!
I love the pics of your parents, you can see the love they have each other. Fun post
Your dad is a stone cold fox.
Haha, I totally have a picture of me dressed up as a little Laura Ingalls Wilder girl, too! Complete with a bonnet!
hahah KIRSTEN!!!!!!
I had the doll, but didn’t have a matching outfit for myself. Seems like I really misses out.
oh i just love looking at old photos like this! love it!
I love the picture of your and Belmont. TOO cute
LOVE that sign … and your bangs too
I love looking back on old photos!! It’s always a nostalgic trip
So adorable. Just love looking at old pix. Your parents look muy fantastico. And see you had the Laura Ingalls thing going on young. Constancy. We like that!
Sweet photos! Thanks for sharing.
You are too cute!
Maybe you were channeling Laura Ingalls Wilder with your outfit. This was a cute post! Your parents are adorable.
Is the last photo from the Georgia Day Parade? I had an almost identical outfit.
That last one literally made me lol
I think you look like Holly Hobby in that last photo…not sure you even get that reference since I have no idea how old you are! LOL!!!
Your dad IS a fox!
So cute! Love this throwback!
Ahhhh a little Jenna/Laura.. precious!
Actually, now that I think about it, the photo with your arms draped over the warning of killer alligators with bangs in tact and dress pristine–is incredibly sangfroid. Yes, you’re blond and beautiful…but that just screams watch-it. hehehe.
ADORABLE! I’m such a sucker for old family photos. You, by the way, are a perfect combination of your mom and dad. I can see how you look like both of them!
I love old pictures…. that last photo must be referring to your fascination with little house on the prairie….. so cute!
I love this post!!
And I so had the bangs too! Only mine were thin and whispy and they’d curl right up as soon as the weather became humid, wet, or warm. It was a very classy looking phase in my life….
What girl didn’t have horrible bangs as a young girl? It’s almsot a right of passage during childhood.
Precious memories…and, that last photo is absolutely hysterical!
very good looking family!! you look adorable!
Ah! My Mom keeps scanning and emailing old pictures to me, too. There must be something in the water…
Omg… that last photo is hilarious.
Omg, so precious. Gotta love parents and their early pictures when you were younger.
You’re wearing a Greenbrier shirt! Did you stay there? I would love to go back but I want someone else to pay for it
Don’t you love how you can see a picture of yourself as a kid in a certain outfit and memories come flooding back? Everything you ever did in that dress with the pink cheetahs, purple jellies, or rainbow striped jumper(thanks mom?!) flashes through…..ok maybe not EVERYTHING…..but a lot!
Ahh is that last picture you dressed up as Kirsten the American Girl Doll?!
I’m going with Laura Ingalls for a book report in 4th grade. We had to dress up after reading a biography in 5th grade. I chose Cyndi Lauper! That’s a fun photo…
AMERICAN GIRL DRESS? I def had one too
ha
was belmont a springer spaniel? i have a springer & i heart him. i love your site. it’s my new go to for recipes.
I literally’ lol’d ‘and ‘awwed’ at this entire post. Love old family photos. (Your mom is so pretty)! And dad very handsome! This is adorable. thanks for sharing
