A Two Day Roll

by jenna on November 5, 2009

Good morning!

I’m on a roll. This morning I got up at 6:30 and headed to the gym…it feels so good to have a gym again, it’s kind of like a home base or something! Before I left, I ate this mini larabar:

Once there, a little elliptical action, some walking lunges, stability ball lunges and a few other lower body strengthening exercises. It was fabulous.

Came home to this, which was even more fabulous.

Love those big almond butter jars from Costco. I used 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 banana, 1 tbsp secret Hotel Healdsburg granola (shhh) and, obviously, almond butter.

It’s a pretty gross day here. Misty rain, fog and cold. Wonderful. I’m off to the winery all day and then tonight is laundry night at the casa of Rocky and Adam. They miss me dearly. Obviously.

Happy Thursday!

Wow! I didnt even know they made mini larabars. That would be perfect for me. I get up really early to work out so I’m usually not too hungry yet. But sometimes in the middle of my workout I get a bit hungry. So a mini bar would be fabulous. Thanks! Oh and the oatmeal with almond butter. Total comfort food.=) Looks great!! Have a super day!

The gym is a total savor for me- it keeps me sane! So I totally understand how you feel. I’m glad your ankle is feeling good enough for you to workout again!

I don’t like eating oats out of a big jar because your oats always look so tiny in comparison to the jar :-( 8oz ones from Naturally Nutty are perfect

Oats in a jar with my favorite nut butter? I miss it. Obviously.

Ehh…I’m not a fan of the jar oats. I think I lack the proper utensils to really scrape the sides clean :-P But I’m happy you got to the gym! I didn’t go for 3 months while I was doing my bootcamp, and I just started back up. I missed it SO much! The weights, the equipment, the cardio options…I’m a total gym rat at heart

I need to try that MaraNatha brand – I see it all the time at my grocery store, but have never picked up a jar.

Hooray for new gyms! Have a great afternoon – stay dry!

I love the gym! I feel so motivated when I’m there. I especially love the classes.

I ALSO love Larabars! That’s one product they actually DO sell here in New Zealand that I constantly read about on these amazing blogs. My fav is Pecan Pie :)

Would you say Maranatha is better than Trader Joe’s brand almond butter??

Silly question but how do you actually stir that big jar? Is there a special tool for that or are you just super-strong?!!

Yay, for getting back into a routine! I love oats in a jar almost as much as I love yogurt messes in large yogurt containers. I like to take the pint size oikos container when I have about 1/2 of the yogurt left and mix in chopped apple, almond butter, jam, and granola. I even like eating this for a quick dinner!

OMG! Mini larabars–adorable & genious! Where can I find them?

Way to go with the early gym sess, I know it can be hard to feel motivated that early in the morning.

I hope you havea fabulous afternoon, pretty girl!

Hopefully they went far in the competition. There’s a lot of Top Chef appearances in California it seems like, I have been to a bunch of Top Chef events here in L.A.

I went and bought a tiny jar of that same almond butter, and then saw the one at costco (that was 3 times the size) for 1/3 of the price that I paid for my small one! Costco next time for sure!!

Mini Larabars? And I was bowled over when I found Mini Luna Bars. Fantasmo.

Glad to hear you’re happy at the new gym. I had an attitude about the gym for so long (I think it was just rationalized laziness), but now I love it. I doesn’t hurt that I see David Duchovny there all the time, either. Ha.

Have fun with the clothe’s suds and the boys!

I tried to go to Costco in Indy and see if they would let me in on a one-day guest pass…no go:( We don’t have none here in Fort Wayne. Lucky you with the big jars of AB!! Sounds like you have quite the fun life and great friends. I’m so glad you found a church and Christian girl friends, too! I couldn’t live without my BFF Polly! You know what a gem she is:)
Have a great weekend!
