by jenna on March 16, 2011

Happy Wednesday!

I’m giving away one Magic Bullet to Go this afternoon to a lucky reader. This giveaway is sponsored by me, myself and I…just because I think both Magic Bullets and y’all are pretty awesome. Plus it’s Wednesday…and we all need a little something fun to get us over the hump!

To enter to win, just leave a comment here telling me what you would make in your Magic Bullet if you won. I’ll pick a random winner Friday night at 10pm PST.

I would love a blender because I inherited my current blender from my cousin and after getting it learned that there is a crack in the bottom that prevents me fro using it for anything involving liquid….which is pretty much everything you might use a blender from. I love smoothies but can never make them because of this and can’t afford another because I’m a grad student which equal perpetually broke…please help!

First things first, OMG! My roomie in college had a Magic Bullet and I loved it and then we graduated and moved away and I’ve been wanting one of these lovely little buggers ever since. I used to use it to make smoothies and puree veggies and I would probably do the same if I had this. I’m also thinking that it’s nearly margarita and salsa time. I’m from Texas but living in Boston, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find decent (or edible) ranch dressing up here. And I hate bottled dressing. I need something to give me a taste of home…possibly drizzled over some fried pickles…

Smoothies – the bullet seems so much less annoying to clean than a blender. Considering I literally have a smoothie a day I’ve become a lazy “rinse” type of blender user; the bullet will change that hopefully!

I would love to have a new blender that’s compact and can take it anywhere with me. Smoothies are one of the many things my toddler and I make together. She enjoyed putting any fruit and drinkable-veggie we can think of inside a blender. She used to hold her hands and arms on the top while I switched the on-button, as a way to “help momma in the kitchen.” The smile on her face on hearing the vibrations from the blender mixing our fruits into her favorite color of pink. I would love to do that again!

I make my own bread and came up with a recipe called “honey-coconut whole wheat bread.” I use honey to replace sugar and coconut oil to replace margarine or butter as coconut is far healthier and adds an amazing flavor.

The recipe calls for blending pure honey, molasses, sea salt, and coconut oil before adding to the yeast mixture and then adding the flour.

I think the “bullet” would be perfect for blending the main liquid ingredients perfectly.

I am a 35 time + marathoner and have been in 14 Ironman races and like to eat well.
You can see my recipe in all it’s healthy splendor here>>> http://tinyurl.com/45ajpsp

I would love a magic bullet! I have been coveting one for ages! I even registered for one when I got married but nobody purchased it for me. I would make green monsters for sure and my own nut butters as I go through a container every few weeks. Nuts are my main source of protein being a gluten free vegetarian who just happens to be deathly allergic to soy. Awesome, no?

Reply

Andrea March 16, 2011 at 4:08 pm

I’m such a sucker for anything on an infomercial!
I could pretend that the first thing I would make would be a smoothie, but I know that’s not true. I’d be making margaritas, with guac as a close second. :)

Oh! this is PERFECT! I’ve been wanting to make smoothies for my afternoon snack at work, but I can’t plug in a blender. our new building is this big fancy LEED certified eco friendly green building (which is awesome), but they restrict what kind and how many appliances can be plugged in. someone plugged in a toaster once and it blew a circuit. this would be PERFECT, no plugs!

Reply

Kelli March 16, 2011 at 4:49 pm

Hi Jenna! I just wanted to tell you that I’m pretty sure you’re my secret long-lost twin. I’m in my last semester of law school and dream of one day going to culinary school at night just to learn how to be a better chef/baker. And you read all the same books I do. So we’re pretty much soulmates (in a very non-stalkerish way) even though you don’t know me.

So I would make my version of a Shamrock Smoothie for St. Pattie’s day if I had an awesome magic bullet! Thanks for all of the wonderful recipes every day! (Your lemon brown sugar chicken is my absolute favorite)

Reply

Stacie @ Imperfectly Healthy March 16, 2011 at 4:49 pm

What couldn’t I do with a magic bullet? I just moved into a small apartment so it would save space and double as a food processor which I am in dire need of! I could make wonderful things like pesto, smoothies, bases for soups, and curries and maybe most importantly a Margarita!

Why I’d want a Magic Bullet?? Oh man, well, when I went to make the green smoothies that I got hooked on through the years of reading your blog, our blender SHATTERED!

Then, the one we replaced it with, started smoking on the first use! We have been blender less ever since. :(

A magic bullet, needless to say, would be perfect! :)

There are people coming from California to here all the time, so no worries on getting it here. And i lived/live in the East Bay and will be there this summer, closer to you. Its fate.

Vanessa @ Project Zen March 16, 2011 at 10:52 pm

I would use mine for making smoothies or whipping up a quick pesto for my pasta. I enjoy finding new ways to make healthier alternatives on some of my favorite childhood dishes and I’m finding that a lot of these ways have found me in the kitchen learning how to cook and experiment with new techniques. For better or for worse, a lot of these techniques do create a lot of dishes which can often leave me washing, scraping and rinsing dishes and pots for an hour. I cannot afford the “luxury” of a dishwasher, unfortunately.

If I am picked to win the Magic Bullet in your giveaway, I will thank you for helping me cook with the added convenience (of less mess and probably less dishes) used in my kitchen!

I have had my eye on one of these for months now as the infomercial has been ingrained into my head from all the late night feeds for my newborn daughter! A few times I have been tempted to call, but I never did. I would make the freshest homemade baby food in mine! Maybe even a few green monsters to keep me going during the day!

Oh man! A Magic Bullet would change my life for the better, no questions asked. I love my big old Cuisinart (a gift from my mom’s kitchen) so much that I couch my kitchen habits in terms of BC (before Cuisinart) and AC (self-explanatory). If I had a Magic Bullet, I tell you what, I’d be grinding up some almond meal, flax meal, some hearty green smoothies (or bean/lentil/beet/whatever random tasty thing from my fridge smoothies), some purees, soups, what have you. Oh, I hope I win!
