Goood morning!
Welcome to the start of Thanksgiving week! What are you thankful for? I’m thankful for:
- my amazing parents, who are also my best friends
- my faith that keeps me grounded
- my wonderful friends
- laughter
- good food (an understatement)
- waking up every morning in such a breathtakingly beautiful place
- big, big trees and windy California roads
And, last but not least, you! I’m so thankful for this blog and your support every day. Thank you for reading π
Oh yeah, and obviously I’m thankful for big bowls of oatmeal too ’cause my tummy reallyyyyyy likes them π
***
I’m still in bed drinking coffee (thankful for that too…check check) but I’m about to hit the gym before work. It’s my last day of work before the holiday….I know several of you have asked if I’m going home and the answer is no…unfortunately I won’t be going home to Florida for Thanksgiving. I’m actually spending the holiday with a really old friend and her family a little south of San Francisco. Daisy and I met almost seven years ago when we volunteered at FOCUS camp together. She just recently moved back out west to go to grad school and I can’t wait to see her!
Here we are circa 2003!
Have a great day!

November 23, 2009 at 8:31 amNow that is my type of a bowl of oatmeal π I love this – I’m thankful for so much really despite how unhappy I am in my life. I try to find at least 3-4 things (or one…) every night to be thankful for in my day no matter how rough and keep a Gratitude journal – I was putting it on my blog to be accountable π
I am thankful I am sticking it out with the yoga training and there is so much I want to tell and share with everyone through my blog π

November 23, 2009 at 10:58 amI was thinking about this the other day after watching Food Inc. Im thankful to be fortunate enough that I have the ability to buy organic, and whole foods. Its something you dont always think about, but there are so many people that just cant afford to buy healthy foods.
And of course like everyone else said, Im very thankful for my friends and family!! Im one lucky girl!

November 23, 2009 at 3:15 pmWow, I could write a book on what I am thankful for! Mostly my husband and my family! I couldn’t have survived my cancer without them or my awesome doctor! And I thank the Lord for the grace to get me through!

November 23, 2009 at 3:21 pmCute photo. Sounds like a fun Thanksgiving. Maybe since in South Bay will get down to Stanford Mall–amazing place. Memorial Church on campus is truly awesome, too, as is University Avenue downtown.
Among so many other things am thankful for…like living at the beach, my son, laptop/Internet, my novel, healthy lifestyle, creative endeavors, etc. are friends who post things like this very inspiring and truly charming vid on my FB page:

November 23, 2009 at 3:27 pmI think itβs really important to be thankful for what we do have. Whenever I hear myself being whinge-y and feeling sorry for myself I try to stop and think about whatβs great in my life. But at the same time I donβt think itβs healthy to be the martyr and never complain about anything!
Hope you have a fabulous time with your friend over thanksgiving!

November 23, 2009 at 8:16 pmSo glad you are grateful for TREES! They are amazing for so many reasons. And I’m glad to know your parents are so special to you. Trees and parents are both rooted connections.
But inventive and gimmicky is a far cry from wacky and ill-conceived. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything you’ve not seen on a pizza before, let alone anything barbecued, deep fried, or seafoody. The distinction is more focused on traditio
