Breakfast

Almost Too Much

Good morning!

Thank you all for the support last night regarding my preliminary interview. I’m trying not to get my hopes up because, in all honesty, it really is such a long shot that I would actually get the job. If its meant to be, it’ll be and I just have to focus on being calm for my call this afternoon! I’m sure they are going to wonder how in world I managed to get over 1,000 votes and I can say, well I have over 1,000 friends all over the world! 😉 You guys are awesome!

Its raining AGAIN this morning (I love it!) and I made the largest bowl of oat bran ever

img_7416

img_7417

It was seriously so large I *almost* couldn’t finish it. Almost being the key word. It contained:

  • 1/2 cup oat bran
  • 1.5 cups water (this is the secret for a HUGE bowl of oat bran!)
  • cinnamon + sea salt
  • 1 banana
  • scoop of raw almond butter
  • 1/4 cup 2% Fage
  • pure maple syrup drizzled on top

I hope my tummy stops feeling so full soon because in an hour I leave for my hot yoga flow class and I hate to feel bloated on my mat.

Last night I surprised Ryan with another cupcake from Frostings, the cute little cupcake joint I visited on Sunday.

Tiramisu is his favorite dessert so I got him one of their homemade (no mixes used here!) tiramisu cupcake! I had a tiny sample at the store when I picked this up and it was divine. Not too sweet and the frosting had marscapone cheese in it. SO yummy. He thought so too—

img_7413

Ryan said “it tasted just like tiramisu and was fun to eat”. I also was given a champagne pear bellini cupcake to sample but I haven’t tried that one yet. Today might be the day! 😉

Okay kiddies, I’m off to get my yoga clothes on and hydrate! I was going to walk to the studio but since its raining I’m going to have to drive. Boo

See you for lunch!

    Hi Jenna,

Congrats on the interview — hope it goes well. Quick question for you about wine — do you find that drinking it more regularly (a small glass most nights) has any effect on your muscle tone or endurance when you work out?

      NJRunnerGirl,

Absolutely not. I have never noticed a difference in the least bit. I’ve always liked to enjoy a glass a night and feel like I am in the best shape I’ve ever been in right now!

Jenna, I just wanted to tell you how wonderful you are. It is a simple PLEASURE to read about your happenings, your never-ending authentic and positive attitude, your outlook on life and pursuing happiness-it’s all so inspiring. Since March, I have stopped reading many other food blogs for personal reasons–but I have never stopped reading yours. TO me, your blog is so much more than food. It’s about life, the ups and downs-and having faith and enjoying it throughout. Your determination is INSPIRING.

Never give up, Jenna. We love you!

WOW Jenna, I hadn’t read the job details until now and I got the chills as I read through the requirements… this job is perfect for you! Healdsburg is a beautiful place– not only would you be in foodie heaven (Bouchon Bakery is worth the drive to Yountville), but Murphy Goode would be silly not to pick you to share your joy and love of life with others!

Good morning, Jenna. I wish it would rain here. We have only had a slight drizzle since November.

Have a great time at yoga. Hopefully you can clear your mind and focus on the moment. Sounds like you have a lot of external noise today.

    Cheers!

Rain is wonderful, but it does sort of put a damper on outdoor excursions. It’s been raining/storming so hard here in Miami – the power is on and off. I wonder if it will go off for good this afternoon, and let me off work early? A girl can dream.

Hey Jenna, Congrats on the phone interview. Good luck! I love your new haircut. I’ve been considering cutting my hair short, but I’m worried about what I’ll do with it when I work out. Does your hair fit in a ponytail? If not, how do you keep it out of your face when you’re running? Thanks!

    Jenna,

Just went to the M-G website and voted for you! I really hope that you get the job! That would be totally awesome. Good Luck!

Plus the cupcake, I think that I might have to try to make one of those. We don’t have a cupcake store up here in NY, but maybe if I get real creative, I can come up with something.

    Good Luck!

    Hi Jenna,

Long time reader, first time commenter.

Just wondering if you cook your oat bran on the stove top or in a microwave? Can you possibly outline how you normally cook it? I usually make oatmeal on the stove top and am wondering how cooking oat bran compares.

    Thanks!

Jenna, I noticed you had the frosting with marscapone cheese in it. I recently was given a cake recipe and the frosting called for the Italian cheese. Any suggestions on where to get it? Thanks!

      Jenn,

you can find marscapone cheese at most grocery stores but if you go to your store and they don’t have it, try Fresh Market! They have everything!
