And She Baked

Oh my goodness, I am exhausted right now!! I did get my article done though on the benefits of green tea! Check it out!

Yes, I did decide to have the first ever ELR Healthy Desserts Bake Sale on Saturday!! Of course I invite you ALL to come! Hehe 🙂 But seriously, if you are in the Tampa area, do stop by and say hello because I’ll be outside all day long!

A preview….

Vegan carrot cake cupcakes yet to be frosted (these are to DIE for!!!)—-

And tomorrow I shall bake on. I’ve definitely got a few more things up my sleeve! I’m also thinking of serving iced green and herbal tea 🙂

Thank goodness while I was baking a fabulous package came in the mail involving a sweet new t-shirt!

My mom is a grass goddess too!

And Ryan, too!

Speaking of Grass, the 40% discount on Amazing Meal officially expires TONIGHT at midnight so you best be sure to stock up now! The special code for that is EatLiveRun40%AM. I can assure you this deal isn’t going to come around again any time soon…..or ever.

Anyways, this afternoon I also noshed on a homemade chocolate peanut butter granola bar:

IMG_1200.JPG
Typed up and printed out ingredient labels! I have a TON more to do…its going to be a late one as I’ve got to get all this stuff done by tomorrow!

IMG_1209.JPG
There was totally a glass of beaujolais splashed in there when my neighbor came over to help my mom price the antiques. She used to work at an antique store and we were shocked to hear that this one random punch bowl was worth $250!

IMG_1214.JPG

When today’s work was done and the kitchen cleaned, I honestly didn’t even want dinner. I felt like I had been nibbling all afternoon! I stuck to something familiar and light: a 2 egg omelet “au naturale” with the other half of my morning grapefruit and a slice of Ezekeil cinnamon raisin toast with preserves.

A raw vegan macaroon for dessert!

My mom surprised me by polishing my favorite tea kettle!!! Oh my gracious, how I love this old thing. I found it at an antique/thrift store in Charleston when I was in college and just have adored it ever since. I HATE using the microwave to heat the water for my tea; somehow hearing a tea kettle singing to you is a much more reliable method. Ryan thinks I’m crazy but oh well.

Gah! Healthy Living Summit registration officially opens in 15 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Log on at 8:00 to secure your spot–you don’t want to miss this and I want to meet you all!
Can you even BELIEVE Michael Jackson died??? I think I’m still in shock. But maybe now he is up there teaching my brother how to moonwalk. 😉

I couldn’t believe it either! Farah Fawcett AND MJ? The world is losing all it’s (now) legends.

I’m glad you decided to bake afterall and sell at the garage sell. I’m sure everyone will love what you are selling! I also have an old kettle that cackles and squeels with delight (that is what I call the loud obnoxious sound it makes when it boils)… I love it 😉

I’m so bummed I live in Canada and won’t have time/money to attend that summit. I’m sure it will be grand though!

If anyone is in the Chicago area (it will probably be in the suburbs), let me know if you want to come to my garage sale in a few weeks 🙂 I’m hoping to give some of the profits to my charity!

Wow if I lived in Tampa I would totally run over to your bake sale to grab those goodies!!

  • Jess
    June 25, 2009 at 9:50 pm

    Jenna – love the t-shirts!

Question about the green tea – I drink a TON of tea (no soda or coffee for me) and usually drink a pineapple black tea from Hawaii or the Lipton green tea with jasmine, orange and passionfruit. I’ve just been turned on to Revolutions tropical green tea too. Do the flavored green teas have all those benefits too? I like to think I”m doing something good for my body, but is there such a thing as too much tea?

    Thanks!
    Jess

      J,

Hahahaha none taken!!! I admit, I have no boobs! It can be a blessing or a curse! Its not like I wear a bikini under my gym clothes though–its a one piece!

      Jess,

Flavored green teas ARE good for you but just make sure they are not loaded with sugar if they are iced!

What size shirt did you & your mom have on? I am ordering but they say they run small & I am not sure what size to order, Did they run small. I usually wear a med in t-shirts.

    • jenna
      June 29, 2009 at 4:02 pm

      Deb,

I have a small and my mom has a medium. They DO run on the small size—if you are a medium, I suggest either a medium or a large depending if you like your tshirts on the more fitted size. I love mine—its made of that super soft material!
