Two things:
1. Apparently I cannot spell simple words like hamster. Allegedly, I graduated with honors and an English degree but who’s to say?
2. I thought it would show me the winner’s email address but it did not. Therefore, I could not email the winner so I am posting it here.
…..drum roll please…..
And the winner is Rose Talbert! Congratulations, Rose! Please email me your shipping information and we’ll go from there. Wahoo!
And thank you to everyone that donated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So today, after I tried on several occasions to spell hamster and failed miserably, I sat down on my bed and then fell asleep for an hour and a half. That is NOT like me at all. I couldn’t even believe it when I looked down at my watch and it said 4:15. My eyes were super glued shut and Dexter was nestled next to my arm. I probably could have slept on until tomorrow but had somewhere very important to be!
Thursday is veggie bag day! I raced to the studio to pick up mine and was giddy with joy when I saw that we got fresh fennel. I LOVE fennel in salads! Plus, more raindbow chard, kale, squash, fava beans and the cutest darn little red onion I’ve ever set eyes on.
I hate to admit it though, but I was just too tired to experiment with the veggies tonight. I heated up some leftover
channa masala with an Arnold’s thin and some grapes instead
I’m going to go to bed early tonight for sure. I think this past week of moving has really caught up with me and I just feel wiped. Tomorrow I get to pick up
Caitlin from the airport though and the festivities will officially begin!
Lovers reunite!
Can you believe I knew her before she had a blog? When I was just a mere little culinary schoolchild baking fluffy breads and pate a choux until the midnight hours? My heart!
I’m off to eat a snack, write an article and gaze at my vegetables. Goodnight!

May 21, 2010 at 5:34 amI love fennel. I had a great salad with it and it’s still my favorite way to eat the veggie. It’s romaine, radicchio, shaved parmesan and thinly shaved fennel with a dressing of olive oil and lemon juice. So good!

May 21, 2010 at 6:46 amFennel is awesome but do not cook it. It tastes so good raw and cold and you can store it it the fridge in a cold bowl of water and it will be even more crunchy.
