Dinner

Attack Of The Gold-Bears

img_1922.JPG

Can somebody PLEASE come over to my apartment and throw these away because I just cannot get myself to and I keep eating them!!!!!!!!! Every time I go to throw the bag away, I just dig deep, eat another red gummi bear and slowly walk away. It’s a sick addiction for sure. Bah!

But I did have these with my lunch today. I brought them from home in the spur of the moment this morning:

My soup lunch held me over very well today! I’m telling you…this split pea soup is where it’s at when you are on a budget. Let’s just hope I don’t have to eat it everyday for the next year. It is quite tasty though!

And…sorry to bore you, but I had to eat leftovers for dinner tonight. I was anything BUT upset about it, seeing as I was dreaming of these enchiladas all day long at work today. They are just too good to throw away and I feel really bad wasting them when I spent the money to buy all the ingredients. I’m going to try to get one more day of them tomorrow, so be warned! I will try to incorporate something new and cool with my leftovers though to keep you all from tearing your hair out of my lack of interesting dinner options. Tonight that cool ingredient was steamed broccoli. Yay!

And for a snack later I am bringing a Go Lean oatmeal packet:

I’m not anticipating a late night but you never know. I have to figure out a way to stick my cake layers back together with a massive amount of buttercream icing. It could get dicey. Pictures to come in the morning! I really wish I could stay home and watch women’s gymnastics!! 🙁 I’m going to get Ryan to tape it for me to watch on Saturday though if he is home from work in time tonight.

And the great news of the day is that I am no longer homeless when I go on my externship next month! The yacht club I will be working for offers externs housing but unfortunately the other externs are all guys. So….I thought it wouldn’t work out because I was not going to live with a guy (Ryan and myself were quite uncomfortable about this). But then they told me I could just rent a two room apartment myself and live alone since there are no other girl externs. I would have to pay for the other room but it will be furnished, close to work and the exact amount of rent I currently pay here in Orlando. I am going there next weekend to sign some papers so I guess I’ll see it then! Its quite a load off my shoulders!

Have a splendid evening, all. Don’t forget to cheer our ladies on tonight! (I secretly want to be Shawn Johnson)

Haha, I love eating leftovers but always feel bad when I have the same thing a couple days in a row and post it on my blog. But no worries because your leftovers look delicious!

Mmmm. Leftovers or not, those enchiladas make me want to lick my computer screen. Do they not freeze well?

And yay for shelter! It’s kind of cool that you’ll have a furnished guest room. I had a male roommate in NYC… who turned out to be a raging alcoholic. Hijinks ensued :-/

Don’t feel bad about eating candy! – I think it is perfectly normal to eat candy every once in a while, no need to feel so guilty! Your diet is SO healthy! Need some bad stuff in there to keep it truly BALANCED, right? 🙂

And yes, GO TEAM USA girl gymnastics!!

I agree with everyone on the candy, besides something that tastes that good can’t be bad right? lol ; ) I’m the odd one out here though as I don’t like gummy bears, I think they just tasts like chewy plastic. Maybe I just haven’t had the right kind.

On living with guys – you’re totally making the right decision on avoiding it. I thought I could live with guys and rented a three bedroom house with two of my guy friends that I had known for a long time. And yeah, disaster. 3 A.M. fireworks on weekdays, weeknight Beer Pong and music all night long and definitley not the same cleanliness standards. I think I’ve officially decided unless there’s love involved (as in boyfriend, husband..) men and women are not meant to cohabitate.

Those are one of my FAVORITE brands of gummy bears; although I will eat almost any brand for that matter 😉 I like putting them into the fridge to make them cold and even chewier!

I bring leftovers for lunch at least 3 days a week; it’s great because it’s cheaper than eating out, healthier than fast food, and tastier/more fun than just eating a sandwich or salad every day…

I must be one of the rare folks who don’t dig candy. I think it’s because I don’t crave sugar by itself and it has to be a sugar/fat combination. That’s why I love cakes and other forms of dessert.

Leftovers are great. It’s nutritious and saves lunch money for me so that I can splurge on a great meal during the weekends.

Ahhh Haribos. The only kind of gummy bear that should be eaten. Other imposter brands hold nothing to Haribos.

    Hi Jenna,

I have a question about your current workout routine. I’ve noticed that you are following a split routine and wondering how it is working out for you. You used to be doing a full body routine in the past right? Is there a difference in your body shape etc?

When I started out with weights, I followed a split routine as well but found that it wasn’t that good for me because I prefer to work out my legs more than once a week so have changed to a full-body routine which works out better for me.

    Alicia,

I do this routine because it lets me zone in on muscles rather than just blurbing it all into one workout and not concentrating on any one thing in particular. I usually do two to three exercises PER muscle and I think that gives the best and fastest results. I have, without a doubt, noticed a change in my body since I started doing it this way that I never noticed before when I was just doing whatever. It helps for me at least to be super organized and have everything planned out. That’s just the way I am though–you could totally get a great workout in any way you wanna do it!

    So glad you found housing.
That is just why I can’t keep candy in my house- I would constantly snack on it! Enjoy it though- you eat so healthy all the time a little sugar here and there is good for your soul!

    Hey Jenna,
I’m going to your fair city of Tampa tomorrow and I’ll be spending about two weeks there with my newly relocated momma. I don’t know the area, and she’s fresh moved, so could you please recommend a few of your fave eating spots? Healthy places as well as the stray unhealthy–but delicious– place are all welcome to be suggested. Thanks!

    Julia,

    Great! My favorite spots include:

    717 South
    SideBurns
    Sally O’Neals Pizza
    Bonefish Grill
    Pane Rustica
    The Village Health Market
    Daily Eats
    and Yokos Sushi.

The first two restaurants are very nice, trendy dinner hot spots but then the rest are more relaxed. Enjoy!
