I have always kind of hated egg salad, however, your implementation of feta makes that sandwich sound delicious! I might have to try that, your brilliant addition may be the key ingredient that allows me to cross over.

Perhaps fried chicken, or chicken pot pie with the biscuits on top. Or sausage gravy and fried eggs; or kale and ham hocks; or fried catfish and collard greens.

Love to see the leaves turning in the pix. Wine country is incredible in autumn/towards Oct.

Jenna, check out the 2nd post on 'Paris annual Flash Mob White Dinner.' Esp the 2010 Youtube video. OMG! How did I not know about this? Will find a way to go. It's in June--so perhaps one B-day you'll go too! http://tinyurl.com/oe4ezq

You're still an amazing food and healthy living blogger to me. I know I felt the same way during my first trimester though. I couldn't stomach so many healthy foods so I felt like a foodie fraud.

BTW - when I say lard, I mean the supermarket modern box stuff (sorry not sure of any US brand names), not the old fashioned farm style stuff that is rendered fat from hogs. iMost supermarket lard is not produced by rendering pork fat, and is therefore undistinguishable from vegetable shortening.

LARD VS. CRISCO, the secret is in the shortening, the reality is it HAS to be lard (eww, I know it sounds so gross), not crisco shortening, otherwise they turn out like bricks...and I know this because of my husband's Mothers, Mothers recipe, and they keep it a secret and it's a big deal...blah, blah, blah. My husband makes these Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are awesome right out of the oven still warm...
4 cups of flour
2 tbsps bakng powder
1 tsps baking soda
1 tsps salt
2 tbsps brown sugar
1/2 cup LARD (he swears by this)
fork in 1/2 quart of Buttermilk
Sorry Honey I shared, but I just had to add my two cents worth...they are just too good.
