Hi friends—Happy Monday!
This morning I started my day off with a piece of Ezekiel toast with raw almond butter + raspberry preserves…major yum! 🙂
As well as a large fuji apple—
I was running my tail off at work because one of my coworkers got transferred to another store and today it was just my manager and I doing all the production. Busy, busy!!! This snack held me over beautifully though and around 8:15 I broke for breakfast.
Yum, yum, yum….a HUGE dense breakfast cookie! I swear, using Sun Warrior in this instead of whey protein powder makes all the difference for some reason. The cookie is firmer and even more dense. I just love it! This combo was my usual of 3/4 cup oats, 1/2 banana, 1 scoop raw almond butter, 1/2 scoop Sun Warrior and 3 tbsp almond milk.
I also had my daily greens! 🙂
Just so everybody knows, this berry flavor WILL BE available online as of May 20th. Right now it is just limited edition available in some Whole Foods.
However, for some reason, this did NOT fill me up this morning! I have been very HANGRY all day long!!!!! I snacked on some raisins at work and then broke into my pre-swim snack around 11:30—
Mmmmm I LOVED this flavor!!! It was super coconuty and delicious. So far these bars are two for two! 🙂
Right after work I raced over to the pool because it looked like it was about to rain and I wanted to make it in time. I put on my suit and walked out there, about to jump in, when I looked and saw that I HAD FORGOT MY GOGGLES!!! Ohhh boy, was I ever mad. I hate that. I probably stared right at them this morning but forgot to put them in my swim bag. Grrrrrrrrr
So, change of plans, I went home and had ANOTHER snack:
Another large fuji apple with a serving of the raw goat cheese I bought at the store last weekend. I have to say, this was aaaamazing. I love cheese and apple together and the flavors were perfect. Delish!
I’m about to attempt to tackle Level Three of The Shred, do some yoga and make some juice in lue of my failed attempt at swimming today. I guess now I know to always pack my workout bag the night before!
Check out the organic apples that were on sale two huge bags for $5 today!!!
This will be perfect for my juicing adventures!!! 🙂
See you tonight!

April 20, 2009 at 11:52 amHi there. I have been reading for a while but haven’t posted yet. great site- love it!!!
I got the greensuperfood this weekend at WF- choclate flavor. I have juiced almost anything (i have a breville and i heart it!!) so I love “green” flavored drinks, but i have to say this might take a little getting used to. Although, i added a little cinnamon and it was pretty good. so I am going to jump in for the 30 day challenge- every morning it’s me and the greens!
Level 3- did it this morning as well. um, hard! li was a little disappointed until now, but this really kicked my butt!

April 20, 2009 at 1:13 pmHi Jenna- Just wondering, do you prefer the taste of raw over roasted almond butter? I must have stood in the nut butter isle of Trader Joe’s for 5 mins debating over the two. Thanks!

April 20, 2009 at 2:30 pmHolly,
Well, this is my first try with the raw and I have to say….I really love it! It is more $$ but soooo creamy and delicious that I don’t think I could go back any other way now!

April 20, 2009 at 1:13 pmCan’t wait to hear how you liked Level 3 of the shred!
I finally made it to a raw foods restaurant last night…my friend and I liked it, but I don’t think I”ll become as passionate as you about it! After we ate we were cracking up saying, “I ate tuna salad made of nuts! I ate pizza made of nuts! I ate bruschetta made of nuts!” Everything was made of nuts – my friend’s throat and nose got all itchy, she must have had one too many nuts. Oh well, great experience!

April 20, 2009 at 2:05 pmI love love love amazing grass! So good.
I forgot my goggles one time too… I walked 30 minutes to the gym for a swim, but I was so determined to swim that day that I took a bus back. Picked up my goggles at my apartment and then went back to the gym for my swim. After all that and the chlorine I had a headache. I should have just shredded it. Haha. It’s so much fun!

April 20, 2009 at 3:30 pmI have a question about goat cheese – I’ve never had it before and I was wondering if it was more of a sharp cheese or if it had a mild flavor? Thanks 🙂
jenna
April 20, 2009 at 3:40 pmK,
To me, regular goat cheese tastes more mild but with a little “tang”. This is raw milk goat “cheddar style” cheese, and it tastes just like cheddar cheese but a bit milder with a tangy taste. I love it!

April 20, 2009 at 3:58 pmSorry about the goggles…you know you missed Jillian anyway.

April 20, 2009 at 4:07 pmYou always remind me how much I miss Ezekial bread… I always buy the tortillas but I wait for the bread to go on sale. It’s my favorite though!

April 20, 2009 at 4:37 pmCheese and apple together is indeed really good! I never tried with goat cheese, but I am guessing it is amazing.. I am going to have to try it.

April 20, 2009 at 6:17 pmI must try a breakfast cookie…..soon! (and maybe the rice protein and the chia seeds, though the pudding looks a bit tricky for me).
Thought you might like this no-bake protein bar recipe I found, tho I don’t know if the pudding mix fits in your eating plan

April 20, 2009 at 6:21 pmHi Jenna! I have seen (or read I guess) you talk about Ezekiel bread products a bunch of times, and I have kind of a stupid question… is that the brand of bread? or is it a special kind of bread? And where do you find it? Thanks for the info!!
Caroline
April 20, 2009 at 10:42 pmYum, you just reminded me that I have some Amazing Grass in my cupboard, just begging to be used!

April 21, 2009 at 7:51 amThanks, Jenna! I’m not sure if you have a TJ’s by you, but I can find both the raw and the roasted for $4.99 in NYC. I think that’s the least expensive I’ve found. Have a great day!
