Breath and Release

Mmmmmmmmmm how I love yoga. The class I went to this morning was my favorite. Its taught by Chay, my favorite instructor. You all have to visit her website—she has some great tips and beautiful pictures. She actually just had a baby this past year and still remains in such great yoga shape. Anyways, her classes are geared more intermediate/advanced and I always feel the effects the next day. Today was a power flow and I’m so glad I went—it seriously makes my day.

I’m having a hard time deciding which yoga studio I want to join now that I’m home. I LOVE the Lotus Room, where Chay primarily teaches, but Yogani has classes at times that would more fit my upcoming schedule (noon classes). I wish I could just do both…maybe if I win the lottery. haha

After class I came home and ate my favorite Amy’s meal:

I’m about to give Mikan a nice long walk outside and then I will be ready to attack my room. Ryan is at the Buc’s game with some friends and I have a solid couple hours of cleaning/organizing and unpacking to do. I might go to a movie later this afternoon with my dad and then Ryan is coming over tonight for dinner.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Jenna, I recently read french women don’t get fat and now have a craving for real chocolate-haha! The problem is the fanciest chocolate I know of is godiva, but I was wondering what brand you recommend? Are you really able to stop with a small amount?

      Rachel,

Honestly, you have to train yourself with a tiny amount. It took awhile for me to be able to stop after one square but if you have the good stuff, one square is all it takes to be satisfied. I really love Endangered Species organic chocolate…my absolute favorite being the dark chocolate with mint!

    Hi Jenna,
I love yoga too, especially Bikram! I was going several times a week in the summer, but when school started (I’m a teacher) it became very difficult to attend classes. (I had a million excuses). Anyway, thanks for posting about your enthusiasm for yoga. It has made my eager to check class times in my area and hopefully get started again

Also, I was checking Chay’s website. Are you in some of the pictures (10, 12, 13, 15…)?

    Have a great Sunday!

What a great way to start your day. I haven’t been doing yoga much since my favorite instructor left my gym. I just need to find another class that I really love. I think that will be my New Year’s Resolution – more yoga!

I just had a strawberry but it wasn’t nearly as big or ripe as those look. I hate winter…no fresh berries.

Girl, you know how I feel about Yogani 🙂 Atleast some yoga is better than no yoga! Glad you enjoyed class! I really enjoy Jen at Yogani, she teaches a Power yoga class on Friday at noon. Also, Ashley is really good. Her flow class on Tuesday nights is amazing. Chay is a great teacher too…I love teachers who incorporate the mind element and she always does that. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I have a baking question. I was trying to make something that required you to melt chocolate chips with a little butter and then drizzle the chocolate over the cookies. But the chocolate was never a dizzly consistency. I even added a little more butter, but it was still to thick to drizzle. Should chocolate chips be meltable so that you can drizzle them?

    Thanks

      Allison,

Hmmmmm usually what I do is melt chocolate with butter over a double boiler on the stove. Do NOT use the microwave. It won’t work as well. Chocolate should always be melted over a pot of hot water on the stove. If the chocolate wasn’t thin enough to drizzle I’m willing to bet there wasn’t enough butter. Butter loosens the chocolate and makes it a thinner consistency. In the future you could also add a splash of cream to the melted chocolate to make it even runnier. Not water though—I would stick to half n half or heavy cream.
