Breakfast

Brrr!

Brr it was cold on my feet getting out of bed this morning!! After we fixed the little fire alarm problem that happened when the heat was first turned on, the place heated up a little but it’s still only 65 degrees in here! Ryan was so cute last week and bought me some more breakfast options for when I come home. He was so proud of himself for buying me “the gross yogurt that I like” (Fage Greek) and Kashi Waffles! So, this morning I toasted two of the waffles, which were Kashi Heart 2 Heart Honey Oat, topped them with a little bit of Smart Balance and a tad of syrup and sprinkled on 1 tbsp of ground walnuts over the top. I ate them with a sliced banana (that got kind of mushed in my bag) and a yogurt. These waffles didn’t toast as nicely as the Go Lean ones for some reason, which is weird. They are kind of softer. They tasted good, but the texture was different and they have 10 less calories.

I think I’m meeting my mom for lunch at the Nordstrom’s cafe in the mall here. They offer fresh soups, salads and sandwiches and its always my number one choice for lunch when at the mall. Last time I had a toasted ham and cheese that was really really yummy!

I’m also hoping to get outside for a run or a long walk….I need to check the temperature first though!

Brrr Cathy! Trust me I know, I live right outside NYC too, where exactly are you from?

    Jenna,
And I love the Nordstrom Cafe as well, yum, fresh salads and hearty sandwiches! Have you ever been to the restaurant within Bloomingdales? The one by me is called “La Provence.” They have a fabulous salad bar and I like to order the quiche of the day as my meal. It’s not as good as the ones my best friend’s French mother makes but it’s very close. And for dessert, omg my favorite part, I split a plain frozen yogurt, the best I’ve ever had! I go with my grandmother about once every three or four months or so, it’s such a nice treat! I feel like we’re “ladies who lunch” 🙂

    Danielle,

That meals sounds so good!! I wish I had a best friend with a french mother!! haha 🙂 I actually have never tried to make quiche but I think I might give it a try….my mom used to make it when my brother and I were little and I remember liking it. I watched “Waitress” last night and now I’m in the pie-making mood….ugh oh….haha 🙂

I just saw your response Danielle….white plains…you know what’s funny is that I think you are so close to me, but I have no idea where white plains actually is. A lot of people I work with are from there. You are right over the GWB right….off 95 right?

I know you posted this months ago, but I just started rifling through your blog archives. 🙂 I’ve noticed those Heart to Heart waffles are mushy too! I’ve tried putting them in the oven but they still don’t toast up very well.
