Behind The Butter

Bum Day

Well, I’m certainly in a funk today. I just tried on clothes at my favorite store for about two hours and didn’t even buy anything because nothing felt right! That never happens. I feel exhausted and bloated from so much food last night and I was going to go work out but my ankle is killing me (xray tomorrow morning!) so I think I’m going to skip it. It’s so gorgeous outside and if my foot felt better I would just go for a long walk but I’ve been on my feet all day long anyways though just walking around and shopping. It’s just one of those blah days! Ryan is on his way home right now though and we are going out for an early pizza dinner here then coming home to watch Ratatouille…he gave it to me as one of my Christmas presents and I’ve been dying to watch it!

Ate a quick snack around 3:00. A low-fat plain yogurt with 1/4 cup flax granola in it. Now I think I’m going to get in some sweats and be a bum for awhile before dinner.

Snack was about 160 calories.

Aw I love Ratatouille (the dish and movie)! I watched it Christmas Eve with my cousins and it was adorable. Let us know what you think! Also, do you generally eat lowfat or nonfat plain yogurt? At school I was eating nonfat but my mom bought lowfat for me when I came home because she thought that was my favorite that I had switched over to (good intentions) and I’ve found that I like the taste a bit more. It also seems to keep me satisfied longer, probably the extra fat 🙂

not to worry…we all have those blah days-you’re doing great on your recovery day. Sorry about your ankle, I know what it’s like-soo frustrating (and painful :(…hope the x-rays go over well!) Anyways, enjoy a cozy night in your sweats with the boy and some pizza, sounds perfect to me!! I need a bum day come to think of it! Enjoy relaxing, night!

    Danielle-

I usually buy nonfat plain greek yogurt for myself but when I don’t mind at all eating lowfat if that’s all that’s available. My mom buys 2% milk, lowfat yogurt and 2% cottage cheese, whereas I usually go for the nonfat options more. However, when I’m at their house I just eat what’s available and I, too, find that it keeps me satisfied longer! In France nonfat yogurt is like a crime and I found myself loooooving the full fat kind. 😉 Not a good choice for everyday… but I think lowfat dairy is fine. When it comes to cheese, I think fat free tastes like burnt rubber and would never buy the stuff. Better to have a small amount of the real thing!!! 🙂

I LOOOVE that yogurt – and I can only find it at the Fresh Market, which I don’t go to often!! I lived on that this summer.

It’s actually supposed to be better to eat low-fat yogurt because a lot of the vitamins and minerals, etc. found in it are better absorbed with the low-fat, so if you prefer it there’s another reason to eat it, yay!
