The big question is….what did I make for breakfast?! Since it was the hot topic on Twitter yesterday! 😉
Was it………..french toast?
Green Monster?
Banana waffles?
Or blueberry pancakes?
ALL OF THE ABOVE! Just kidding 🙂 I actually ended up having vegan blueberry pancakes with fresh berries (from Skinny Bitch in the Kitch) PLUS a small Green Monster and English Breakfast tea!
We were just about out of maple syrup so I probably only used a little less than a tbsp on these hotcakes but they were amazing regardless. The recipe in SBITK is seriously my “go-to” recipe for homemade pancakes. They are healthy and whole wheat but you would never know because they taste so good! I had three 🙂
Plus, Ryan and I shared a GM made with a frozen naner, 1 scoop Amazing Meal, about 3 cups spinach, 1 piece dinosaur kale (!!), 1 spoonful raw almond butter and a little more than a cup of almond milk. It actually made three glasses of smoothie (we used small cups today) so I gave Ryan two cups of it (he was so happy) and I had one. I was pretty full after the pancakes anyways!

Ryan was a dear and cleaned the entire kitchen before leaving for work so the birthday girl could just sip her tea and read blog comments. What a guy 🙂 I love to cook but I HATE to clean!!
The game plan for today is after my food digests, a Dave Farmar podcast in my living room. I originally was going to go to hot vinyasa flow this morning at the studio but, well, the class starts in 15 minutes and I’m still sitting here in my pjs. Oh well. After yoga I am meeting my mom and we are going to the beach all afternoon! When asked what the number one thing I wanted to do on my birthday was, my response was READ. I know you all might think thats weird but reading is my favorite thing to do and things have been so busy lately that I haven’t gotten to take much time for myself and just relax with a good book. Today is the day! And then at 4:00 I’m getting my hair done, which I know I just did about three weeks ago, but its still not exactly how I want it (can you tell I’m a huge perfectionist? nooo) and I adore getting my hair done anyways and being pampered.
Here’s a teaser for you: just got word that someone AMAZING has agreed for a blog interview!!!!!!!!!! I’m so exciting about interviewing him/her that I’m literally shaking with excitement. I can’t wait!!!!!!!

Hahaha no no…sorry!!! I’ve been reading Thrive since last April. Definitely no “announcement” or announcement to come though. I love all the ideas in The Thrive Diet but just don’t think it would fit 100% of the time with my lifestyle. I agree it is super healthy and the best way to go if you can do it! I love my seafood, cheese and the occasional piece of chicken to much to ever go vegan!

Oh, I have a book recommendation for you! Have you ever read any of Ruth Reichl’s memoirs? They’re fab! She’s the editor of Gourmet and used to be a food/restaurant critic. They are quick reads but v. entertaining – I think you’d like them! The first is called Tender at the Bone. In case you ever need a new book. 🙂

i’ve been a reader for quite some time, but i’ve never commented before. today i was looking back on some of your older posts, and i think it was meant to be that i stumbled across this one: http://eatliverun.com/stuffed-to-the-brim/. you talked about how at nineteen you struggled with your appearance and never felt like you measured up. i’m nineteen now and have struggled with various eating disorders for the past six years, and i can totally relate to how you felt at this age. the beginning of this summer has been especially hard and i want so badly to be ready to let it go and live healthfully. you are such an inspiration to me and i really hope that one day i can find the balance that you have achieved with food and exercise. i also want to find my way back to God because i feel like my faith has taken the back burner lately. how are you liking the life application study bible? i’m looking for a new one! anyway, sorry this comment is so long, but i just really wanted to say thank you for all you do. you are truly an inspiration to me, and i hope you have a wonderful, wonderful birthday!
