Dinner/ Lunch

College Lovin’

Hi guys!

Well, Ryan birthday was a success….and now I feel completely and totally stuffed (tonight was DEFINITELY a splurge night!!). No formal workout but I did get around to about a two mile walk as I decided to walk instead of drive to pick us up sandwiches for lunch today, and I swam a bit in the pool, so I guess you could call it an “active” rest day?! But, first, here’s a recap of the day. This morning on our wayย  to St.Pete we stopped at my parent’s house to drop offย  a piece of pie and I picked up some snacks:

I chose the plum and saved the breakfast cookie.

We also picked up some subs for the boat. I got a foot long whole wheat sub with turkey, provolone, mustard, veggies and their “special secret spice blend”. I ate half the sub for lunch and had the other half for a snack mid-day (with half the bread).

Drinks included this fuze and toooons of water! It was HOT!

And then when we got back to shore, the party started. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I felt like I was back in my college days (aka not so healthy days). Erin and I went to the store to pick up some booze and snacks. We made birthday mojitos and had chips with salsa and guacamole.

I had one DELICIOUS mojito and a handful of chips with salsa and guac…no cheese slices.

This was at about 6:30….at around 8:30 on our way home to Tampa, Ryan and I picked up his birthday pizza and the movie 21 for tonight. We did what we usually do—3/4th of the pizza with pepperoni and 2 slices with all the veggies I want. We also got our typical greek salad.

And here I am….BAD eating role model!!!!!!! Just to set the record straight, I was totally STUFFED after this huge slice of pizza. I had noshed on chips and salsa and drank that drink, and I was totally full. But………it’s pizza and it’s just soooooo good when it hits your lips (college, anyone?!), so I had my other slice.

And now I am on the couch like a beached whale and totally stuffed off carby goodness. I wish I wouldn’t have eaten the other slice because I hate to feel this full, but whatev…I’m getting up and running in the morning and then Ryan is meeting me at the upstairs gym afterwards and we are lifting weights together. Tomorrow is a new day!

Here we are today!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend—tomorrow is back to the grind!

gorgeous dress! you two look so happy together ๐Ÿ™‚ definitely sounded like a fun birthday for ryan! don’t feel bad about 1 mojito. i’m a jr. in college and that wouldn’t even be considered ‘pregaming’ haha. seriously though, most kids drink like 5-6 shots and several beers in 1 night! insaaane!!! you deserved the treat ๐Ÿ™‚

Jenna, looks like an amazing weekend- I am sure Ryan feels so loved. You really pampered him the last few days!

It also looks like you had some really delicious food all weekend- so glad you enjoyed it. And you have such a healthy diet and workout routine, I think that extra slice of pizza will be all in the past in the morning.

I love reminiscing about the unhealthy nature of college though. How did we live like that?

haha guys, I’m not feeling guilty about my pizza choices for sure! In college that would be a “normal night” (with like 5 mojitos and beer). A nice once in a time splurge! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have a question about running. Iโ€™m not thta strong of a runner but I made a plan all the way up to May to run a half marathon. I used the 5k plan then the 10k plan and then the half marathon plan to get ready. Iโ€™ve started it today. My question is is it better to take a walking break if I need it or just to suck it up and keep going (but then that leads to a slower pace for a longer time) ..Like today it was to run 2 miles. I ran one mile took a 2 min break then I ran the other mile. But then I was thinking should I have just ran the whole 2 miles (which I can do) but I know the second mile would have been atleast 1-2 minutes slower..

sorry for the lengthy question.. anyone can chime in and put in their 2 cents please!

    Love 21, good movie choice!

I would have done the same with the pizza too. It’s just one of those foods that you can always find room to cram more in, no matter how full. Oh well, you had good reason, no better time to cram in the pizza than on a birthday!

    Hey jenna

I wouldn’t worry about that 2nd slice of pizza!!! you had a great eating day and always eat well!!!

Did you like the Fuze drink?? I was actually looking at them at Target today wondering if they were “worth” it or not??

    Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Mandy – so you know, the Fuzes (especially the slenderize ones) have about 10, or less, calories a serving with about 2.5 servings in a bottle.

Awww…you are NOT a bad eating role model. I think a good role model is someone who realizes that you don’t have to be perfect all the time and that it’s about balancing enjoyment and nourishment and looking at your habits over time, not in one sitting.

    Jenna,
I am really glad to see your post this morning! I was at the beach with my boyfriend and his family all weekend and although I never feel like I was out of control with unhealthy choices .. and I did run quite a bit .. I am definitely telling myself that “today is a new day” and I am pretty eager to get back to a healthier routine. All your posting about getting your running analyzed has really made me rethink my training – my shins have been killing me if I run two days in a row and I think it’d be a good idea to get it looked at before I mess something up. Thanks a lot!

    Caroline,

Yep–that’s a peanut butter breakfast cookie! My mom eats them everyday so she always has extras on stock that I “borrow” when I visit!

    katie s,

Of course anthro! Where else is there?! I haven’t gotten a spare second yet to check the shoes but I will and will report back later today!

    Mandy,

Yep–I love Fuze. Drank tons of them in college and only just rediscovered them. A little expensive to buy all the time but I do like the flavor.

The pizza looks delicious! I LOVE pizza! It is probably my biggest weakness. And yes, I would have had more than 2 pieces.
Fuze! Haven’t had one in awhile…must get one!
