Breakfast

Crunchy

Morning

Thanks for the sweet comments about my car! Its a headache all right but I’m thankful no one was hurt. Hopefully I’ll get a rental car today to use until my car is fixed.

Breakfast was the Trader Joe’s brand of Kashi Go Lean Crunch:

IMG_4794
I think this was called something like “honey almond flax crunch” and I actually liked it BETTER than Kashi because it was not as hard. Sometimes Kashi hurts my mouth because the clusters are so hard…this was much better! And, it had 10 grams of protein per serving.
I’m hoping I can get a car soon so I can still make my work-out at the studio later this morning. But, if that fails, I’m going to go for a run and do some strength moves here and then write for the rest of the day. I have my writer’s group this afternoon and it has become one of the highlights of my week!

I love that TJ’s sells their own version of popular products. I swear that their tomato bisque soup is identical to the Amy’s Kitchen brand!

I love the Kashi Honey Almond Flax cereal – it’s so yummy! And I actually love the crunchiness. That way it stays somewhat crunchy when I mix it with yogurt. The Toasted Berry cereal is really good, too!

I love it when a cheap supermarket version is better – I’ve found my cheap own-brand oats have better fibre and protein content than official brand ones! Hooray 🙂

love that cereal! I agree that kashi’s can be a bit rough on the mouth! I normally let it soak in my milk for a minute or two to soften it up 🙂

Kashi crunch hurts my mouth too! I don’t buy it anymore. It’s even taken off a little skin from the roof of my mouth… Hate that!

Good luck with the rental car!!

I actually stopped eating Kashi Go Lean Crunch bc it really does hurt my mouth! I think this is, in part, attributable to the cereal–but, in part, attributable to the fact that I chomp it with extra vigor because it’s so delicious hahaha. I’ll need to hit up your granola

Yeah, I’ve totally cut my mouth on Kashi clusters before…but they’re so good!

Enjoy your writer’s group! I’d love to find one of my own…now that I teach creative writing, I miss having my OWN stuff workshopped, lol!

I agree with the uber crunchiness of Kashi Go Lean Crunch…sometimes I’ve had to just let it chill in the milk for a while so that it wasn’t as hard. Still delicious though…good to know that TJ’s brand is less hard though!

Sorry about your car, hope it all works out ASAP!

I can’t eat gluten any more but when I did, I much preferred TJ’s crunch cereal over the Kashi kind. I agree that it was less crunchy and it was more flavorful, as well.

mmm. I have given up bananas and berries lately because I’m trying to stick to local or at least domestically grown foods — but yum a nice ripe banana in some crunchy cereal would be divine right about now…

I agree about the go lean crunch! I do love it though! I wish I had a TJ’s near me! I am currently eating the Kashi warm cinnamon heart to heart and that is very good too! Added blueberries to mine today! Doesn’t get soggy very quickly!

And hope you get the rental today! So tough not having a car, even when you don’t use it a lot! I am so glad you knew who hit it! And it shouldn’t take too long to have fixed! Glad you have so much you can walk to!

You have to try the new Kashi Crisp, it’s not nearly as crunchy and hard as Go Lean Crunch, but still stays nice and crispy in liquids 🙂 Nothing worse than car troubles, hope it gets better.
