Dessert/ Dinner

Dairy Joy

Thank you all for such kind supportive comments earlier! John let us know he is okay today and that was huge. Without going into details, we know now without a doubt that he is okay, he is happy and is with us all the time. Sometimes you just have to pinch yourself and wonder is this really my life?! It wasn’t supposed to be this way! Such is life. You gotta keep goin’ forward!

So on to tonight! I put on my favorite heels and met Lanie in Anthro before walking over to Restaurant BT together, which is right next door to my apartment.

We orginally were just going to have a cocktail but ended up eating a very yummy dinner! Take a look at this delicious cocktail list!

img_7549

Can you  guess what I got?!

img_7550

Nothing else but the Mango Passion Mojito Martini, obvi!!! I ADORE mojitos and this was, without a doubt, one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. It was very sweet from the mango and passion fruit nectars and just delicious. That’s a piece of dried mango to garnish (of course I ate the garnish)!

Today was actually the first of the new menu at BT where you could create your own Vietnamese style tapas plate so we ordered a small plate with a shrimp crepe, spicy prawn roll and tuna wrap to share while we sipped and chatted—

Everything was delicious!

At this point we had finished our drinks (mine tasted just a juice pouch and went down lightening speed) and we each ordered one more. This time I tried what Lanie had gotten, the Wild Orchid Martini

img_7557
Hot dang! Wheras my first drink was a juice pouch and not strong AT ALL, this was the polar opposite. It had a strong floral taste and you could definitely taste the alcohol. I probably drank a little less than half of this….I have trouble drinking liquor drinks where I can taste the alcohol!

We then decided we needed food. Pronto. Lanie ordered chicken pho and I ordered a rice noodle bowl with pan fried tofu

img_7560

It was delicious but I probably only finished half of it. I wasn’t starving after the drink and the appetizers but this tasted very good!

We each a couple more sips of our drinks and then I walked across the street home. Talk about convenient! I then proceeded to plunk myself down on the couch and make tea while wrapped in a blanket—

And then when Ryan got home we went out for ice cream at this fine Tampa establishment—

img_7570

I ADORE places like this! Nothin’ but down home goodness. I got exactly what I was craving—a small vanilla dipped cone 🙂

img_7571

I devoured it.

This afternoon I was feeling a migraine coming on so I made a BIG green monster to ward away the wiggies.

img_7544

This bad boy contained 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla hempmilk, 1 spoonful raw almond butter and probably five cups of spinach. It was good but would have been better with a full banana, not just a half.

I’m getting in my jammies and headed to bed. Its been a long, rather exhausting day both physically and emotionally and I need some major zzz’s! See you in the morning1

      Meghan,

Thanks! They are from a beachy sandal shop I used to work at when I was in high school…..

      Jamie,

I don’t even think they know the words “nonfat frozen yogurt” at a place like this. This is definitely old fashioned soft serve ice cream! Real thing, baby! 😉

First of all…LOVE the SHOES!! I’m a shoe girl at heart:) And, I’m definitely going to try the green oats/Monster/oatbran (Polly/Jenna-style) very soon!

And, I had to tell you about my snack I bought yesterday. I finally bought the dates and filled one (ok, a few:) with almond butter…heavenly!!! I had the lady at Fresh Market half the container of dates in case I didn’t like them.. NO WAY! That will have to become a staple for me:) Thanks, Jenna!!

    Have a great holiday,
    Jenn

A true gift for your family to have had a sign/message/feeling from John. There is nothing more special than feeling the presence and love from loved ones who have passed away.I too had a similar experience and it made me feel the love, harmony and joy from him, that he cared about us so and is happy and peaceful. But it is true words can never capture the essence of this miraculous experience.
It is a beuatiful gift once can “hold on to” when the seas get rough and turbulent.Your brother is always there for you if you look in the right places.Peace.

Even though I have a collection that consists only of running shoes and a few fun pairs of heels, I love me some diva heels and trying them on always puts me in a good mood. What is it about the power of the pump? One of those mysteries…

And could there be a more perfectly named place than “Dairy Joy”? I live about a mile from a Dairy Queen, but have yet to introduce myself to the goodness of my medium twist cone with sprinkles this season. I believe I will add that to my “to-do” list for the weekend…

HOT, HOT SHOES! I’m in love!!

Having just lost a loved one, isn’t it touching when you really do get a sign that they’re okay. Yesterday my aunt shared a dream with me that she had the night before and it left me so shook up but I know that my FM is in a better place. Hang in there Jenna, things will get better in time.

Ok, I obviously need to hurry up and have a green monster! I always have those ingredients, but never thought to make a smoothie out of them!

PS. You have now inspired me to get ice cream tonight, thank you!

    Jenna,
this may sound weird, but I was glad to see that you ate a dipped cone! I have been so amazed and impressed with your food choices day after day- if I could only do half as good!!! You are such an inspiration for healthy eating and I am slowly evolving into living a healthier lifestyle myself. I do, however, have my dipped cone moments and it made me feel better seeing that you do too! It’s not easy for me to eat perfect all of the time- alot of it has to do with developing new tastes for things (healthier things). Anyway- we all can use a dipped cone here and there, and I’m glad you did!
    🙂
