Lunch

Defeat

Guys, today has been………a day.

I just don’t know. I have no words. The DMV beats down and crushes my soul….every time. I cannot win.

The boyfriend bought me lettuce and kombucha to make everything better.

The lettuce also came with kidney beans, mushrooms, beets, cucumbers, carrots and a hard boiled egg. He fed me dark chocolate, too. It was a dire situation.
I feel better now.

Maybe I should paint another bird?

Awww, sorry to hear you’re having one of those days. That’s what my day was like yesterday. DMV stinks!! That dark chocolate and the presence of your bf had to make ya feel a lil better. 😉 Your bird comment/pic made me laugh. Possible defeat for the moment, but I can’t imagine you ever letting it keep you down for long! Hope the rest of your day gets better for you! Sending positive vibes your way! 🙂

But did we ever find out where the fabric was from? I’m sure I can find something similar….I just love that the colors in the fabric are so neutral so you could go wherever you want with the birdies!

Oh honey, you see, vanity can cost you a lot. Not just the effort to blow dry your hair, but the 2 hour wait.

You see, I need a new driver’s license (I live in So. Cal). My existing one expires on Friday (my, ahem, 40th birthday). I couldn’t get an appt until after my license expired.

I went in at 7:55. I was in and out in 25 mins, INCLUDING the drive there and back and the wait before they opened. I was # 13 in line even.

Who really looks at your driver’s license? Bouncers and ticket agents at the airport.

    LOL. Yes, paint a bird!

The DMV can transform a sane person into the crazed Steve Martin character in ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ when he snarls the F-bomb 18 times at the reservations counter clerk.

I think need a coping strategy going in. Like Gregorian chants on IPod, deep breathing, aroma therapy, and favorite cookie-induced calm while channeling Enya and wearing a sock puppet so you can instruct the clerk(s) ‘talk to the hand’ and thereby depersonalize the interaction. If you got out without being tased–probably you did good.

You must not have yet had the pleasure of riding a jam-packed Bart Train under the Bay from Oakland to SF at rush hour–when it stops in hot mid-summer and the lights and AC go out, and no one explains anything. Lots of fun.

first, i LOVE that your solution is to paint another bird. it makes me think my unfurnished walls need something similar. as a treat, paint a bird. when they are all painted, start all over again. a canvas with an evolving story. nicely done.

second, i too spent the day at the dmv. i thought of you. i had a friend with me and we giggled our way through and proved to all the grumpy pants there with us that going with a friend is clearly the way to go. it was a first, but not a last. the person set to help my ‘category’ actually left for lunch without telling us so none of our numbers were called for over an hour and we had NO IDEA WHY! lame-o. but, in the end, i survived, accomplished my goal and now i wish i had a bird to paint.

here’s to a better humpday than tuesday,
    anne

Awww, didn’t you know that the DMV requires souls for sustenance? Why else would each employee need to take 3 lunch breaks in an 8 hour shift?
