Mmmmm yoga was delicious today.
In honor of my friend, Polly, who mentioned my favorite Baptiste style yoga today on her wonderful blog, I decided to do one of my favorite yoga downloads this afternoon—the 90 minute Baptiste Power Vinyasa flow. This is a real one in a kind class….the instructor, Dave Farmar (LOVE him and just subscribed to his power yoga podcast series!) is hysterical and really makes holding the poses until you want to scream a lot more bearable. The class is all levels but you can work it as hard as you want to. When the 90 minutes was up, my beating headache felt a whole lot better and now is 100% GONE. Triangle pose works a heck of a lot better than any of those nasty painkillers I used to take all the time, that’s for sure.
And even better yet, my mom made another delicious dinner! I can’t feature the recipe since its straight out of my one of my favorite cookbooks—The Black Dog Summer on the Vineyard Cookbook—but its AMAZING……….caramelized scallops on homemade potato pancakes with smoked chili cream sauce. Yep, my mommy is a gourmet chef! Now yall know where I get my love for the kitchen from! 🙂
The recipe is awesome and quite easy! Totally worth buying this cookbook because I’ve sampled soo many of the recipes from it (including some delicious ginger cookies!) and they all rock. And who can really beat homemade potato pancakes?! I love ’em.
I was in foodie ecstasy with every bite. I chewed slowly with closed eyes. Amazing. Buy the cookbook now. Enough said.
Well, sadly its not the weekend for me. I’ll be up at 3:15 again starting my day but I’ll be smiling the whole time because Sunday is my long awaited day off and tomorrow night Ryan and I have a date night to go see a movie. I can’t wait!
I’m off to go test out the new bubbles.
Have a wonderful night and I’ll see you tomorrow!

January 23, 2009 at 9:29 pmI did that same class tonight and I was totally on the verge of screaming. The only reason I didn’t was that my little guy was sleeping. It was awesome – love the challenge.

January 24, 2009 at 9:49 amFor anyone who is going to try my Turkey Chili recipe, I also add one red bell pepper, chopped, when I add the garlic. Enjoy! I do add more garlic then it calls for, but then again, I always do in any recipe…

January 24, 2009 at 1:03 pmIt’s nice that your mom is a good cook. My mom also sparked my interest in cooking, but in the opposite way. She;s more of a frozen lasagna/Chinese take out cook.

January 24, 2009 at 1:09 pmI have bought that cookbook as a gift on 3 occasions. It’s funny that I don’t actually own it myself, nor have I been to the restaurant!
