This morning we woke up and decided there was only one thing for sure.
Today would be my birthday. Again.
You see, yesterday was a great day. We went to IKEA, ate salads in the food court, sat for three hours in Oakland traffic on 101 (err I mean 508?), I drank a whole mini bottle of champagne and collapsed on the floor…..I put together a couch on my very own…..
But today is going to be a bit more relaxing and no one has to know my true date of birth was yesterday. For all parties involved, today is my 25th birthday and I’m going to celebrate. To get this special day started on the right foot, I woke up early and ate some cereal for breakfast before going to the gym.
At the gym, I did 20 minutes of HIIT (high intensity interval training—SPRINTS!) and 30 minutes of Summer Shape Up strength. Today was back day and I can already feel it. Gina is a drill sergeant, folks. I love it.
Currently drinking a chocolate protein shake (protein powder, water + frozen banana) and contemplating the day. We are going to Michael’s to get some crafty things for the apartment and then we are going to a cheese and wine pairing at my place of employment followed by more wine tasting at Matanzas Creek. After all, it is my birthday.
We had a bit of a situation last night when part of the couch fell on my mom’s big toe and broke it. Clearly us Weber girls have issues in the furniture moving department. I’m trying to get everything under control though and, like she said, it’s nothing a little wine can’t fix. That’s the spirit, mom! Way to rally the troops!
Can’t wait to show you my (new) apartment! It looks 100% completely and totally different than before. Going to wait until we are all done though so you can get the full effect. Have a great Saturday!

June 12, 2010 at 9:27 amOhhh… can’t wait for pictures of the apartment!! I’m glad that Dr. Mom prescribed more wine for a broken toe. In my family, we celebrate birthday weeks because a day is definitely too short for a birthday! Enjoy today!!

June 12, 2010 at 9:40 amYou had me really confused with 101 traffic in Oakland! 101 doesn’t go near Oakland. Anyway, glad you are having another good birthday.
We’re hopefully moving back soon to the bay area, I can’t wait!!

June 12, 2010 at 10:33 amBroke the sofa or your Mom’s toe?? Wasn’t clear. The wine will have little impact to the sofa–unless it’s red and the sofa is white. But yes, wine can fix a broken toe–at least while one is drinking it! Good for you to keep the party going. Birthdays should be full throttle affairs!! 🙂

June 12, 2010 at 2:19 pmI was just going to say so myself, that the freeway you would be talking about is 580. You went to the IKEA in Emeryville right?? I used to go there all the time when they first opened, we would feast on their swedish meatballs! Hope your mom’s doing okay btw, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY again to ya 😉

June 14, 2010 at 3:56 pm1) I can tell you’re not a native Cali girl in the fourth line of this post 🙂
2) The gym program reminded me of a funny work email regarding Special High Intensity Training and variations thereof.
