Ended With a Crash

by jenna on December 22, 2009

Last night I CRASHED. And burned.

But before I explain, here’s a recap of my food from yesterday.

An all natural tart yogurt with organic mint oreo cookies:

And then my mom made me my favorite! Fettucine with escarole, brie and pancetta (out of Bon Appetit):

Combining brie cheese, bacon and pasta is pretty much the most genius thing ever for the ultimate bowl of carbohydrates. Lord, it’s good.

And it was a perfect pairing with Cambria Rae’s Chardonnay (my FAVORITE Chard!):

And then…yeah. I crashed and burned. I think I just was totally wiped out and exhausted both emotionally and physically. I needed to just disconnect for the night, so that’s what I did. And then I went to sleep at 7:45. I’m not even kidding. Haven’t been to bed that early since my bread baking days when I used to wake up at 3 a.m. and go to work.
Anyways, moral of the story is that I slept for a LOOOOONG time and now feel better. I had some overnight oats this morning:

1/2 cup oats with 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 Fage, 1 tbsp almond butter, pom seeds.
And now I’m chugging water in preparation for a morning Bikram class. Have a good day!

So glad you’re feeling better! I’m going to try that pasta tonight – maybe with a Chard, too. You’ve inspired me to try yoga! I bought a beginner dvd at target and have been doing it for five mornings in a row and I love how nice and stretchy I feel! Thanks, Jenna!

I go to bed before 8:00 all the time… do other people really not do that? ;-) Really though, my whole family does, but it probably has something to do with the fact that we all wake up before 6:00 in the morning.

I’m going to make that pasta! Looks delicious, love all the ingredients. BTW Kim Kardashian made a new salad commercial-I wanted to post the commercial outtakes on my blog–am a salad freak..and if she encourages more salad eating good for her. But it was hard to find a pic of her in a not too sexy dress for my blog…found one that is quite an adorable yellow sun dress, girly and thought I’d post here…one of those ‘file in back of mind’ for summer. http://www.suzannedecornelia.com/
She cracks me up as I went UCLA/worked there and that whole WLA lifestyle can be a lot of fun–for awhile.
