F-F-F-Friday!

I feel a TON better this morning. Of course last night I couldn’t fall asleep but once I did I slept really well and woke up just before my alarm was to go off this morning. Sometimes when I’m over-tired my body sends me little signs to slow down—my throat starts to hurt, my body starts to ache….that’s when I know I need to give it some rest. Anyways, rest I did and this morning I woke up and hit the treadmill at the gym for a 20 minute run. When I got back I made a smoothie using the other half of my banana, soymilk, 1 tbsp ground flax and frozen mango, peaches and strawberries. I also toasted up and english muffin which I spread with raspberry jam.

I got some new soup that I haven’t tried at the store last week. This Amy’s low fat split pea. It seems pretty good and is remarkably low in calories. I looked at the nutritional label and it said the entire can was only 200 calories! I always eat the whole can of soup anyways but because it was so low I decided to bulk up my lunch a little, adding a side of hummus (2 tbsp) with a carrot and half a bell pepper as well as a small baggie of blue corn chips and a peach. For a snack I packed a bag stuffed with cherries. I like lunches like this because if I can mix and match things a little bit. If I don’t feel like my hummus at lunch I can save it for a snack or if I feel like the cherries for lunch I can save the peach and some tortilla chips for a snack.

I’m going tomorrow night! It’s crazy how excited we can get over a movie, but, like everyone, I’ve been waiting for this FOREVER! I cannot wait until tomorrow night. I’m going to have to avoid every spoiler I can until then, because I know everyone is going to be talking about it.
    Have a Happy Friday!

    Have fun at the movie~

I posted this the other day, but don’t know if you say it, but on alot of these food blogs sprouted bread seems to be really popular. I was wondering why? It looks more dry than regular bread. Does it have less calories or more filling. Before I try a loaf, I am trying to understand what makes it so popular.

Sprouted bread is a lot more natural, no artificial ingredients, I don’t know if that’s why other blogs have it, but I know thats why I eat it.

Amy’s soups are great. low calorie, great ingredients, low sodium and very filling. I definitely do a whole can for myself.
I need to break out my blender (it’s new) and buy some frozen fruit to make smoothies.
I’m seeing SATC Sunday. Felt I had to go with a girlfriend and that’s when she could see it, normally I’d just go by myself today.

Sprouted grain breads digest so much easier for me. Plus, no sugars or oils added… they are hearty and more grainy I think. Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted grain bread or english muffins TOASTED are so yummy! Good question, I’d love to see why others also prefer sprouted.

I agree with the other posters–that IS a great soup! Sometimes it’s hard to find a split pea soup that is made without ham. Enjoy your day!

    Jenna,

I know you drink lots of tea and water, but in the summer, hot tea is not appealing!

I’d rather not drink artificial products such as crystal light and was wondering if you have any suggestions? I’d also rather not have 200 calories worth of sugar from juice (those calories can be much better spent on cookies!). What do you drink in Florida since the weather is nice all year?

Sprouted bread is awesome- I think it is so much more filling and energizing than regular. I just feel better eating it.

SATC- I’m seeing it tonight and CANNOT WAIT.

PS-@ Renee–no offense, but the weather in FL is NOT “nice all year”. The summer months can be brutal with the heat, and then along comes a hurricane to knock out all the power.
And it can get reeeaaaallllyy cold in the winter months, as well.
