Morning!

I have a special surprise for y’all! How would you like to own your very own Garmin 705??

As you know, I’m riding in the Echelon Gran Fondo to raise money for the Livestrong Foundation. 100% of all donations go to further cancer research. That being said, I will be auctioning off this sweet Garmin (I wish I had one), which retails at $499.

The Garmin 705 has both heart rate and cadence monitors, a barometric altimeter, and wireless capability so that you can share your bike routes and workout data with other riders. Plus, it just sits on your bike rather than having something heavy on your wrist while riding (like the 305 that I have).

In other news, I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast…plus an unpictured grapefruit.

My bowl contained 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water and a big spoonful of peanut butter.

I did some work at Starbucks this morning and then hit up a 9am yoga class. The class was only an hour but I felt the need to just get on my mat and stretch myself out after my long ride yesterday. Anna had us do like 5 side planks and my shoulders are definitely feeling it right about now!!!

I’m sitting in a coffee shop waiting for my friend Marcy to get here for our weekly writer’s workshop. Going to try to get outside later for a short run and do some much needed LAUNDRY!

    I’d love, love, love a garmin. I’ve been thinking about purchasing one for my upcoming marathon training. That’s a hearty lookin’ bowl of oats. Delish!

    It’s so strange to hear about oatmeal without a banana in it! It seems wrong somehow :/ Like peanut butter without the peanuts….

    you can get a bike mount for your 305 so you dont have to wear it on your wrist while you ride.

    I just did it…bought 4 tickets! Hope the fundraising goes well. I know a friend from college who did Team in Training and as part of her fundraising, she hosted a party where everyone had to donate $5 or more at the door. Kind of cool and fun excuse for a partay!

    quick question on your oatmeal… when you say you have 1/2 c of oats, is it 1/2 C cooked, or dry… it always looks like you have so much in the bowl… 🙂
