My favorite kitchen tool is my big red non-stick pan – It’s my go-to for almost everything. I think I need to updgrade/add a cast iron this year though – I need to be able to stick that baby in the oven! I also went Veg a few weeks ago and I really want a rice cooker/steamer. It’s on my Christmas list (I plan ahead!). Would love to have a microplane! Thanks!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. She is plum color and so I named her Sugar Plum Fairy. I even made her a tutu and wings . . . I know a bit silly!
Currently, my crock pot! I’ve made all sorts of delicious meals in minutes which is great since I work >80 hours a week! Red beans and rice with turkey keilbasa is in right now

I must say that my favourite (or at least one of my favourite) kitchen gadgets is my “Corn Stripper”…I literally have NO counterspace in my tiny NY apt, so this tool make dekernal-ing corn much simpler, faster and cleaner!

Does a good sharp knife count? I like to keep it simple, but I also very much love my rice cooker because it has pretty much eliminated burnt, watery, undercooked rice from my diet (yes, I have managed to burn AND undercook rice at.the.same.time)!

it sounds weird, but my favorite tool is the pair of stainless steel tongs we have. I just like picking up everything I’m cooking with them! I kinda feel like I have a lobster claw… And recently, the pair of rubber tongs to use on the non-stick pan:)
I love my kitchen aid stand mixer! I was actually in a beauty pageant and during the question portion I was asked the question “If you could save one thing from your burning house what would it be?”, and I answered my mixer. Now THAT’S love.

My favorite gadget is this thing I got from Pampered Chef that you use to cook ground meat. It’s like a bladed tool that helps break up the meat as it cooks so there’s no clumps. So awesome!

Oh, I was just thinking I need to get one of those after your last post! My favorite kitchen gadget is my mandoline — even though it’s a cheapie, and i cut myself nearly every time i use it, it makes cole slaw and cucumber salad and scalloped potatoes and all sorts of other things super-easy.
Does my Keurig coffee machine count as a gadget? lol I seriously can’t get through one day without my coffee and this machine is my saving grace. A cup of coffee in less than 60 seconds! Wow, I sound like one of those commericals!

I actually have two, I could never choose between them. First is my spiralizer. I LOVE it. I spiralize everything. It’s so easy and makes a very attractive salad. I also love my grill pan. Get lovely grill marks inside! Yum! Now I’m craving a spiralized zucchini salad and grilled chicken

My Kitchenaid Mixer….I got it when I graduated college and moved into my first place! I knew I was getting it because a few days before graduation and I was pining over the kitchenaid commercial and my mom started being weird and playing dumb and couldn’t look at me, I knew something was up!
My Hot Shot from Sunbeam. I love it. It boils water in 30 secs for tea or anything else. I have no patience so waiting for water to boil is not happening. I drink tea at least twice a day so it’s perfect for me.

My pampered chef can opener!!! I love how it leaves no sharp edges and you can turn the gadget around and use the other end to pull the top right off. GREATNESS!
My favorite kitchen gadget would have to be my Dutch oven- it can go on the stove AND in the oven, can heat oil for sauce or risotto without burning it or you because of an extremely hot bottom (like metal saucepans do), and can be used in the great outdoors over a campfire! It can make soups, stews, casseroles, desserts, even breads and pizzas!

I just got a blender and it’s definitely my new favorite tool (if you could call it that). But I think every new tool is my favorite for a while.
I love my kitchen shears! I left them in the packaging for over a year but once I took them out I remembered why I love them. It makes it so much easier to chop certain vegetables and herbs, they’re handy when opening difficult food packages, and they’re super easy to clean!

My magic bullet blender/juicer. I love that I can make my daughter fresh orange juice! I don’t like the clean up though lol.
My knife! It’s easy to use but also acts as a great stress reliever when I chop veggies and other goodies!

A really amazing knife does WONDERS. I had these cheapo knives for years and I was always straining to chop vegetables. Once I upgraded, life got a ton easier.
hmm…I have no idea what my favorite thing is but it’s a rubber heat-proof pan grabber. It fits your thumb and first two fingers to grab something out of the oven. Me and heat don’t match. I also am in love with my Kitchenaide, got it for Christmas and still wondering how I baked so much by hand.

My favorite kitchen tool which I do not own is a kitchenaid stand mixer (my mom has one and I love using it when I’m ‘home’. ) I also like my new avocado slicer, which my fiance (perhaps rightly) thinks is ridiculous.

I have this really simple but tres cool apple de-corer that my mums had forEVER, i used to love playing with it as a kid, slicing up apples into segments, sometimes i didnt even eat the apple – i just liked the pretty shapes! basically its a circle shape with lots of little cutters so when you push it down on the apple, it splays out into a perfectly cut circle… genius!!!
I love my spatula/scraper thingy that gets everything off the sides of the bowl. I don’t end up with batter on my nose anymore!

Favorite kitchen “gadget” is my big, bright turquoise blue colander. Certainly not the most tech savvy thing in my kitchen, but it is my absolute favorite color and pulling it down to drain fresh pasta or rinse a big bunch of leafy greens just makes my heart happy!
My friend brought me home this metal potato grinder thing from France (…I’m sure there’s a real name for it). I loooove steaming cauliflower and then using that to easily turn it into mashed cauliflower!

I love my pestle and mortar! My boyfriend bought it for me as a ‘well done on finishing your essay, can I have my girlfriend back now please?’ gift, and I was over the moon! (we didn’t know about Julia Child’s pestle and mortar, which her husband bought for her, and we couldn’t stop laughing when we saw the film!)
Anyway, it’s handy for my curry obsession (beats squishing herbs with a tin!) AND it looks pretty on my kitchen shelf – perfect!

The metal wagon wheel! Also known as the tool that cores & slices apples with one simple push. For some reason I think apples just taste better when they are cut up, probably because its easier to dip them in peanut butter this way!

My amazing cheese grater my mom got me when I moved out. It’s so fun to use! You put a block of cheese in it and grate it like those old pencil sharpeners you had to turn with your hand to sharpen in elementary school. =)

Favorite kitchen tool? As weird as it sounds, probably my bamboo cutting board. I can’t get it clean fast enough before I need to use it again. I took pictures of my lunch with it today. I carried it upstairs and ate my lunch of off it while sitting at the computer uploading blog photos. We’ve used it as a pizza peel and a dough board. And it’s so dishwasher friendly. I’m in love.

The 6 year old boy hooks them under the lip of the Rubbermaid container that holds ice cream cones and is so proud he can do it himself. His sister gets her own Nutella out with them also.

Hmmm… while I love my cherry red KitchenAid to pieces, I absolutely could not live without a nifty little tool that was found in one of those cute random little kitchen shops, and it kind of looks like a big plastic bottle-opener, except that it releases the airtight seal on jars so that I can open them without any trouble at all. Truly a lifesaver with no man in the house!

The Vita-MIX!!!! Hands down! Any blender that you can make both soups and ice cream in is pretty freaking awesome, IMO. And, anything that I paid that much money for should be in my family pictures, actually. It cost more than my adoption fee and first year’s vet bills for Shellikins.

I don’t know if this counts as a gadget, but we use it more than most of the small appliances in my kitchen: Those rubber circle grippers that you use to open jars and things? We use it for much more than that: getting the food processor detached from the base so we can wash it, opening bottles, opening jars, even as a heat pad in a pinch.

I use it to blend nearly everything blendable, and get frantic when my husband doesn’t put in the right spot so I have to search for such a handy diverse tool.

Though not as sexy as the microplane, what I probably use more than anything else in the kitchen is my favorite knife. It’s sometimes perfect even for non-kitchen tasks, though if I were a real purist, I would never use it outside of the kitchen.

my kitchen scale gets the most use so it is most useful. The unique new tool that I love in my kitchen is the pineapple corer/slicer which makes perfect rings of pineapple all cored.
a cutting board my dad made my grandparents that i inherited from them after they passed away. every time i use it i am reminded of all 3 of them.

Well, I’d like to say my husband since he’s the family cook, but that’s a bit cheesy. Instead I’ll say my toaster oven! I love toast in the morning, but I’m currently obsessed with toasting to add to my couscous or quinoa salads, most often almonds. It adds so much flavor, so easily!
My favorite is my red, garlic smusher thingy. I don’t really know what it’s called, obviously, but it makes ‘minced garlic’ in seconds (to think, I used to slave away with a knife) and is so fun to use! I guess maybe a garlic press or something?

I think a good sharp knife is the best kitchen item. You can improvise everything else in a kitchen but a sharp knife makes all the difference.

Spatula, spatula, spatula! You can do almost anything with a nice spatula. It’s always my go to for stirring, flipping, scrambling, tossing, anything.
This is going to sound kind of silly, but my favorite kitchen tool is a mini cutting board. I love it because it can be VERY hard to wash a real size cutting board and not get yourself soaking wet. The cutting board is perfect for cutting a single chicken breat or even a sweet potato. I got it for only $1.99 at Ross and I use it at least twice a day. It’s small enough to fit in the silverware drawer.

I have a couple of small Cutco knives my parents gave me a couple of years ago. At the time they seemed like a ridiculous present, but once I took them to my apartment, my roommates and I were amazed at how horrible and dull the knives were that we had been using. These newer knives are great for anything!!

My fabulous Analon knife set that my parents gave me for a Christmas a few years ago. It’s a small set, a paring knife, 7″ chef’s knife, 10″, a bread knife, and a 7″ santuko, but what else do you need? I don’t know how I ever got by with cheap dull knives before I had these! I so wish that I had a KitchenAid mixer though

life just hasn’t been the same since i got a set of knives THAT CUT THINGS. i marvel at these beauties, how they just do what they’re supposed to (and don’t squash the bread/tomato/peach in the process…who knew?!). a close second is my tea strainer for loose tea. because warm tea when it’s cold is one of the most wonderful things there is.

Holla! My favorite gadget will surely be this microplane. My sister and I just moved into a new place, and let’s just say I get creative in the kitchen when it comes to kitchen gadgets (everything is either cut with a butter knife or the most intense butcher knife you’ve ever seen in your life). The butcher knife gets more done, thus by default it is my favorite item in the kitchen!

Oh my Lord.. I NEED a microplane! I have the crappiest zester which doesn’t even really zest and I could really use one for my love of cheese.. instead of cutting strips off of blocks. My husband and I just went vegetarian about 5 months ago and we eat a lot of pasta.. hence the need for a microplane.

My favorite kitchen gadget is my coffee grinder. First for the obvious (LOVE fresh ground beans!) but also for the uses I’ve found for it over the years like grinding flaxseed or dark chocolate. It’s the most under appreciated $10 gadget.

My most favorite tool is a strawberry stem remover. I got it at Williams Sonoma at the beginning of the summer and LOVE it. I can stem a pound of strawberries so quickly and don’t waste any of the top part.

My absolute favorite kitchen tool is probably my moms special baking trays. For some reason when my mom bakes the cookies on those trays, they do not flatten out and get all crispy, they stay soft and fluffy and I dont think I could ever make cookies without them again!!

It’s a simple thing, but so effective! I L-O-V-E my avocado saver. You know how they get brown, even when you leave the seed in the middle? Well this little device has a ‘seed divot’ in the middle and you place the avocado half face down and it really does save the avocado from browning. Brilliant!

I have 2 favorite kitchen gadgets:
- Immersion Blender: makes making homemade soup so easy!
- Pampered Chef Chopper: I hate chopping onion, garlic, peppers – so the chopper is such an easy way to do it. Plus you get to take out your aggressions as you pound on the chopper. Ha!
I love my good chef’s knife-a Christmas gift from my hubby!-except when I had a little accident chopping onions!
I love gadgets, so it’s hard to pick just one. I think my favorite is a Pampered Chef juicer – you put half a lime or lemon in it, and squeeze and it gets more juice out than any other tool I’ve ever seen. It literally turns it inside out!! Love it!

Ah I’ve been wanting a microplane like crazy! I know it’s simple, but I love my decorative measuring spoons from Anthropology. The ends are like gold-dipped coral branches and they’re lovely.

My absolute favorite kitchen tool is my grill pan. When I was moving into my first apartment my aunt sent me an extra pan she had with all of those little raised lines for grilling. I suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome and eating at home, eating cleanly, does WONDERS for my energy and I don’t know how I would have survived without it. Almost every morning I take out a frozen chicken breast,fillet of some fish, or turkey burger patty out to defrost and marinate while I’m in class and when I am done I come home and grill up my protein and veggies. I fell in love with grilled onions and grilled zucchini with Fiesta Brand’s season all. This is how I avoided a freshman, sophomore, junior, and now senior 15! Thank’s Aunty!
