Lunch

Filled With Tempeh

Hey hey!

Sorry for my lack of posting all day but I’ve been plowing through a to-do list over here and trying to get some pages cranked out for the book. I’ve also cleaned the house, gone to the store and got my car washed. Success!

This was one of the things that made my day:

A Lululemon gift card!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Kristen!!!! It shall be put towards the pants I am lusting after. 😉 I love the cute little pouch it came in! This is just the thing I need to save my change for the Golden Gate Bridge Toll, since I am always lacking funds and sometimes have to write the tollbooth people checks. Oops.
This morning I snacked on a not-so-ripe pear:

And made a delightful hummus/tempeh wrap for lunch:
IMG_4076.JPG
I used 1/3rd block of tempeh, lots of hummus, bell pepper and a little goat’s milk cheddar cheese in my ezekiel wrap and had baby carrots, more bell pepper and a lone piece of kabocha squash on the side. Tempeh is seriously filling and I’m starting to like it more and more! Today I put it raw into my wrap, whereas yesterday I simmered it in water for 10 minutes (supposed to make it less bitter?). I liked it raw!

This afternoon I went to my “office” aka barnes and noble to write. Naturally, I had a tall soy awake tea latte while there—

And that’s that! I never really got hungry for an afternoon snack today, besides my tea latte. I think it’s because tempeh is so darn filling! No yoga today either…taking a rest day because my CALVES are screaming at me! Not sure what I did exactly yesterday to work them so badly but between that and my obliques, I am having trouble walking and laughing. It feels good to relax.
Not sure what’s in store for tonight but I’m about to bake some whole wheat chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with the Kodiak mix I got in the mail yesterday!
Hope y’all had a great Friday…have a lovely evening!

I hate when pears aren’t ripe. They taste kind of woody.

I’ve been stuck without toll money before. I think the toll taker felt bad for me because I never got a ticket for it.

I tried tempeh for the first time the other day, and wasn’t sure what I thought. When I went back for a second try, it grew on me, and continues to do so.

So jealous of the lulu gift cert! You’re one lucky girlllll

Tempeh is delicious! I usually eat it with a little soysauce and pineapple in a stirfry, but your wrap sounds fabulous. I haven’t had it in so long, but I’m feeling inspired. 😀

Have fun with the giftcard!! 😀

Hooray for tempeh! The soybeans are cultured so it’s easier for the body to digest (vs. tofu and soy milk). I love lululemon clothes – I have my eye on some cute running shorts. Hopefully they will motivate me to get on the treadmill….

I have a strained left hamstring and know that you were injured a while ago as well. What did you do to cope in that time? I cant stand just resting, I need to be up doing something. I know I can do ab work and upper body ST but my arms are getting too defined lol! It being winter in NE walking outside isnt much of a joy either…I own an ET, would that be too strenuous do you think?

Does anyone else have any tips? Thanks!

I heart lululemon. Just wish prices weren’t so high. Ugh. I do love my jacket though that is long (goes over my bum) and has thumbholes and an awesomely huge hood. Makes me feel so cozy and feels great! Still can’t believe I paid so much for it though. They need to have sales once in a while, in my opinion. 😉

Isn’t that great when you’re sore from yoga?! It’s like whaaaat?! I thought I was just stretching…

Too funny! I forgot about bridge tolls all the time when I lived in Cali. I think the Golden Gate was like $3 bucks to cross? But that was years ago….I’d imagine it’s gone up even more now! Anyway, love seeing all the yummy places you are going to in San Fran 🙂 Aloha

Hi I’m planning to buy some products from Kodiak today (the 3 custom pack)! I know I’m going to get the Pancake mix and the Mountain Berry syrup but I don’t know what to get for my third item! Perhaps after you make the cookies today could you recommend either the brownie or the cookie mix?? Thanks…just want to get the most out of my money haha!
