And don’t you KNOW I love my fried catfish and hushpuppies!

And lastly,
My allergies are OUT OF CONTROL (what a lovely welcome home present) and I’m covered in bug bites. Goodnight!

lovely photos! I’m glad you are enjoying yourself! The food looks great!
Ohhh all that food looks so fabulous! You must be having such a spectacular time!
You take such beautiful photos! And I love that dress you’re wearing!!
Looks yummy!
Better to be covered in bug bites than alligator bites
Wow I’m surprised you didn’t burn up in those boots—although now you don’t have any bug bites on your lower legs
My allergies are DYING (I’m in NC)!!! There were just clouds of yellow everywhere as if it was raining pollen all day. Everything is YELLOOOOW!!!
Cute boots! I <3 your fashion sense!
Out of curiosity, did your parents move to Georgia, Jenna? Glad you are enjoying good food and family time!
(Happy Friday!)
This whole post looks like a scene out of a Top Chef challenge! I love your boots too
What a fun time and good eats. Another cute outfit, your like a fashion show
WOW. LOOOVVVEEE that place! Looks like you had so much fun! Enjoy girl!
Just posting an observation. Your smile seems to be more genuine when you’re near your family or old friends. It reaches your eyes.
Bug bites.. ah don’t you love Southern summers? (er..spring)
That plantation is gorgeous!! And the food..YUM!! I can eat my weight in hushpuppies!
Love the dress! And yeah, allergies are definitely the worst.
bug bites are one of the only reasons i don’t like summer…hope they don’t itch too bad! you look so cute in your dress and boots
As gorgeous as that property is and your photos, I am more in love with your outfit! Where did you find the dress?
What does your dad do at Ford Plantation? I wish I had time to go visit it when I was in Savannah – we just ran out of time. But one of my friend’s dad manages/runs? (some title thats at the top of the food chain perhaps) the Ford Plantation?? Next time I’m in Savannah I’m so going!
Oh my goodness it looks like you are having a blast!!!! Love your dress with the boats.
What a beautiful city…I have never been to Savannah but I seriously can’t wait to visit!
i love your hairthat color!!!! the south is so pretty
your photos are amazing
Allergies and bug bites: sure signs your in the south again! Welcome home!
That place is gorgeous!
I agree completely on the allergy front, my are insane too. Georgia was definitely in a huge pollen fog all day today, it was awful!
the ‘green snow’ is no joke! the fish fry looks awesome- you have a knack for finding the best eats no matter where you are.
Cute outfit. What the heck are hushpuppies?
Your outfits are always great! Sounds like a great time was had by all! And I can imagine you had maybe one or two s’mores as well
good lord! beautiful pictures.

what is that picture of??
Gorgeous pictures and locations!
Allergies have the worst timing don’t they? Mine have been kicking my butt lately!
I LOVE how well-rounded (cultured?) you are. One minute it’s bike rides and wine tasting in CA, then it’s cowGIRL boots and hushpuppies in GA, and then you’re off to Paris for croissants and whole milk cappuccinos. You are wonderful!
Wow, it is a beautiful place
I’m not even sure what a hushpuppy is, but the event looks fun!
So much fun!!!!
Enjoy your time with your family – very special indeed!
So delicious- love the catfish!
I’m admiring all of your beautiful dresses- you look gorgeous in every picture!
My allergies are kicking in this GA weather too (see yellow shoes on my last post). Your photos are great candids (make me feel like I’m in the family scene; love it!)
Katherine
I can’t believe that place–so pretty. You’re making me want to take a trip down south. Oh, and I’m with you on the allergies. Mine are slowly killing me right now.
CUTE dress Jenna!! Where is that from? Great pics!
What a cool place to work!!!
i LOVE your dress. I always love your dresses. I swear, bloggers never wear the same thing twice!
Ah, hushpuppies – LOVE THEM!! Where I live, people don’t even know what they are! Sad, I know…
Beautiful! Where down south? I thought you were from Florida??
One of the little girls in those pictures looks like Suri Cruise!
Wow, that looks incredibly beautiful! We’re getting springy here in the midwest but that looks like summer there! Have fun!
Wow, what a beautiful place!
omg, my allergies are out of control too. UGH. I want to love April, its my birthday month, its when the weather gets nice…but I want to literally tear out my eyes.
Mmm You’ve got me craving s’mores now! The plantation looks beautiful, you definitely seem to be enjoying your time in the south
Love the dress with the boots- so cute!
Good luck with your allergies- those are the worst
Love the photos! You look super cute!
OMG, I could cry seeing that fish fry. I haven’t been to one since I was a little girl in Mississippi. The church around the corner from us (not the one we attend) has fish fries during the summer. I’m DEFINITELY going this year!
I hear you and sympathize on the allergy front. I never experienced allergies until I moved to the East Coast.
It looks absolutely gorgeous there! Both the food and the environment!
Gorgeous…all of it!
beautiful pics
From those pictures it looks like the Lilly Pulitzer was OUT OF CONTROL!!
Fun times! Too bad you weren’t in Charleston last Sat. for the bridge run, it was a great time.
Your pictures are beautiful! I checked out the history of the Plantation and yikes! Below is an excerpt:
“The good times ended with the outbreak of the Civil War in 1861, when the Union blockaded the coasts of South Carolina and Georgia”
Obviously the South is tied to the economic system of slavery and it’s impossible to remove that from American history. However, “the good times” is such a poor way to describe the time period leading up to the Civil War. Granted, I am a Northerner and am well versed in the exploitive system of slavery….however, to describe the Southern economy pre-Civil War as “good times” is cementing the fact that the economy thrived because of the labor from blacks.
Sorry this was a rant. I just couldn’t believe that!
That looks like such a beautiful place!!! Hopefully you don’t really see any gators there!
Beautiful photos, what an amazing time!!
xo

Ah, hushpuppies…
What a beautiful place!
I adore your cowgirl boots! So cute!
Gorgeous pictures!
I just want to say, that although I have loved reading about your California experience and I’m sure that it’s been absolutely wonderful for you to live it, these have been my favorite posts in a long time. There’s so much LIFE in the South. An East Coast girl myself, maybe its just a matter of personal taste…or how I grew up…but there is just no where like the South(east)ern United States.
Caitlin in MD just summed up what I was thinking myself!!
I love Cali and especially the area where you are but I am a southern girl through and through. I love the heat the sun the people the laid back slower pace and of course.. the FOOD!!
haha!
I am so happy that you are enjoying yourself
makes me smile for you
Ahhhh, these photos make my heart yearn to go back home to Georgia! Thanks for sharing, they certainly made me daydream!
