Sometimes I get fed up with fashion trends. I mean, neon? Really? In my opinion, highlighter should be left in 10th grade. However, I’m all into the color blocking trend that’s going on right now. Mainly because I love to wear bright colors anyway! Like I need any more of an excuse to rock bright blues, yellows and reds. And when I found this amazingly retro blue pencil skirt at a local thrift shop on Sunday, I knew it was to be. Not only does it fit like an absolute glove, but it’s my favorite shade of bright blue.
Oh yeah, and it was two bucks.
I wore this outfit on Sunday night when Adam and I ventured out on a little dinner date. Fried chicken for him, grilled proscuitto wrapped peaches for her. Love.

I love thrifting and post about it all the time…to the point people probably think I’m weird but I don’t care! From cute dishes to vintage handbags and skirts, thrifting rocks.
And you look *amazing* in that outfit.

Jackie O’. Or Audrey Hepburn.
As an aside – what is Proscuito? And – you should try to get a “reply email” function on your site!! Most of the other ‘big’ blogs have it – and it’s useful for commenters. Just a thought

i LOVE this, jenna. so adorable and totally flattering. you should wear this “look” regularly.
I have no idea what color blocking is, but SO CHIC
I didn’t either, so I looked it up on google. This is what http://makeupandbeauty.com said:
“Colour block fashion is one of the hottest new trends for the season. It combines the use of two or more blocks of colour in an ensemble. This could be for a top, bottom, tunic, a dress and even a handbag or shoes. Simply it means – creating an outfit by putting areas or blocks of solid color next to each other. It can include monotone, bright colours, muted colors, contrasting and complimentary colors. Clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories can all feature color block designs or can make up different blocks of color to be put together for a color block outfit.”
Love the shoes!! You are rockin’ that skirt, girl!
I adore your skirt! I love pencil skirts – they give such a great, hourglass silhouette. You look lovely!
Jenna!

DAYYAM girl, you look gooood!
LOVE the whole outfit! great find with the skirt!! nice touch with the yellow purse! i’ve been rocking a ton of yellow lately.
So cute! Gosh, way to show us that is is possible to get great goods that are ‘thrifty’
…Perfect for a date night outfit!
hahah funny – I am the exact opposite of you. I’m angry at color blocking (more the concept of it than the actual use of it) Basically I feel like it’s something that’s always been done…..someone just gave it a name and put “color-blocked outfits” in rapid succession on runways, magazines, blogs, etc. effectively turning it into a trend. How is this even new? People have been wearing colors-upon-colors forEVA!!!!
On the other hand I find neon to be infinitely rad. It’s even cooler AFTER 10th grade….true words.
Love your outfit! But I won’t call it color-blocked. I’ll just say it’s cute =)
love the neon trend! that blue looks fantastic on you! defs a good colour. Love the necklace too
That skirt was definitely made for you! I love it!
Wow! You look absolutely gorgeous!! Love the outfit and everything about it. You look like a nouveau Jackio O

You look gorgeous Jenna!!! Love that pencil skirt. 2 bucks…that rocks.
Wow you look aMAzing! Oh how I wish I could eat the foods you make on this blog and look like that! Do you want to know what I had for lunch today? A plop of black beans I had processed to make veggie burgers with on top of a bed of dressing-less mixed greens. My hubby said it looked like poo on the grass. Le Sigh.
Hot lady! That outfit it so cute.
I can’t believe that skirt was $2.
Love the outfit, great colors! I love thrift shopping and surfing the clearance racks at Target.
Wow!! I can’t believe the skirt was $2.00, you look amazing in it!
GAH! Jenna I adore your skirt. Love that retro look.
Heidi xo
Such a lady … You look Fabulous !!
I love your blog and have been reading faithfully for years, but I have to say I’m always crestfallen when I click over to see that it’s another post on your outfit. Too much focus on fashion recently, IMHO.
I appreciate your constructive criticism, but have to say you “always are crestfallen”? I’ve only ever done outfit posts twice!
You look amazing, don’t get me wrong…but I’m (less dramatically) with Chelsea on this one – I prefer when it focuses on food. Perhaps a fashion tab? Because clearly you have fashion sense, I just prefer buttercream.
But hey, it is your blog, do with it what you wish!
Ok, perhaps “always” was a bit dramatic, sorry bout that!
I guess the actual outfit posts have only been twice, but I guess I was also thinking about some recent posts that you’ve shown your closet, talked about shoes, tops you’ve bought, linked to fashion blogs, etc.
I love your fashion posts (I’m fashion-tarded, so I love seeing cute outfits using clothes from stores I actually shop at), but it does kind of stray from the theme thus far of your blog. I like the fashion tab idea (would that continue to show up in my Google Reader?? b/c that is my main concern).
But..but…its her blog, she can do whatever she wants with it right? If the title of the blog reflected ONLY food, I could understand people questioning the fashion posts but its eat LIVE run…basically covers everything
I personally dont think this strays at all from the blog theme. Also I think Jenna had a post a while back either asking us what we would think of her adding fashion posts or saying she was going to start incorporating them as part as her blog and she explained why. There are plenty of food only blogs out there, maybe you could explore them if fashion isnt your thing? Whats so bad about fashion posts anyway..Its fun! Ps. Jenna I love this blue outfit, the clutch is to die.
I am loving your fashion posts! Keep ‘em coming!
Looooooovvvvvvvveeeeee. Keep the fasion posts coming, please!
Ps- can you add a fashion tab?
Looks amazing!
I love the fashion posts, too!

Love this outfit…very Kate Middleton. More fashion posts, please!
OK, I scrolled through the comments hoping someone else would ask this…is it just yoga and hikes that are keeping your booty perky?? If not, please share the secret exercise!!!
Love, love, love, the fashion posts. Fabulous outfit and that necklace is like the cherry on top. Beautiful!

Love. Very polished, classy & also sexy in a lady-like way. Like the texture of necklace/rope shoes that reiterate each other & also the purse & bracelet detail have the same sleek line. The French go for subtle details & I always have too. Your hair looks fabulous!! Love the glasses.

Were those pictures taken in the Healdsburg plaza? Went there this summer on vacation with my hubby and I still dream about it every day. Seeing the pictures makes me nostalgic – I want to go back!

THRIFT stores rock.
Thanks to you I now have a photo to print and take to the salon. The outfit is great, but the bangs are drool worthy!
Oh my gosh, that outfit is fabulous!!! I love color blocking, those colors and thrifting!! If that skirt magically disappears… I flew to California, found your house and “borrowed” it!:-D You are just the cutest too
LOVE.
Will you add your new fashion posts to a fashion tag so I can find them when I need some fashion inspiration? Love your style!
Gorgeous! Love the pencil skirt…looks almost like J Crew? I have this one I bought on clearance from them in the late spring-its wool so I can’t wear it till next winter but its in a color they are calling “Bright Dahlia” it’s a bright fuchsia/pink color! I am not sure what color to wear it with other than black or navy….
J Crew Jackie cardigans are pretty much perfection, aren’t they? I love that color you have on too.
Was the picture taken at the square in Healdsburg? or perhaps Sonoma? Thanks for reminding me I need a visit to both soon…
Jenna, You look gorgeous!
The picture looks so retro, very cool
HOTT! Love the outfit!
You look amazing!! I want to copy your look immediately!
You look very Audrey Hepburn!! Beautiful!!
