NJ,

Hmmm I have to think because I never make 13 x 9. I would THINK so but not 100% on that. You might want to google it or , dare I say, wing it?! hehe :)

You can just sub AP for cake ounce for ounce but I don't recommend it. Cake flour has a lot less gluten and will yield a much more delicate crumb and texture. AP flour will make the product more dense and heavy. Not what you are looking for in a delicate pastry or cake!!

Runjen,

I found it in the spice section of my local store! Its a mix of several different spices and once you taste it, you will hooked. I LOVE the stuff! The whole wheat naan is also from my local store....right alongside the flatbreads, pitas and regular naan. I'm SURE you could find it at WF.

Erin,

French grocery stores are a LOT smaller than our stores. I freaked out at the beginning of my stay as well because, like you, I lived on a diet of oats and almond butter. It took a few days (haha) but soon enough, I became RIGHT at home with a croissant or muesli and yogurt for breakfast every morning, a large salad for lunch and a rich dinner + dessert every single night. And I lost weight while I was there! Ahhh i love it. When I cooked for myself in Paris I made a lot of salads with fresh produce (check out all the farmer's markets...there are tons!), omelets and soups. I think I ate a 2 egg omelet 3x a week...with a glass of red wine and baguette of course! Your body gets used to eating a certain way and eating the French way IS a big shift for most Americans, but after a few days or so you will be right at home. How could you not, with amazing food everywhere?! And I ran on the streets in Paris a few times although I practiced more yoga than anything. I saw other runners...it wasn't too weird!

Hi Jenna, I just discovered your website this past week and am really enjoying it. I have only recently decided to get more serious about nutrition and sites like yours are SO helpful and give me so many wonderful ideas.
I'm in Tampa too! I live in Valrico, but work out by the airport.
Great to "meet" you!

Jenna- I'm a big fan and have only commented a few times and now I have a France question for you.

I'm a college student studying abroad next year in France. I try to eat as healthy as possible and exercise and it's not too difficult on a college campus where I know what I'm eating and have food readily available in dining halls to choose from. I will be living in an apartment in France and will be cooking for myself. What can I expect from French "grocery stores"? I'm scared I'm going to miss my regular staples- oats, peanut butter, and some processed foods I'm guilty of loving- but this will probably be good for me.

Also, would it be weird to run on the roads in France. It's obviously normal in America but to my understanding it's not common in Europe. Is this true?
