Breakfast

Got My Blueberry Waffles!

Good Morning!

Well, I didn’t make it to doing yoga this morning but I’m definitely going to do it later. This morning I was sooooooo tired but made myself get up at 6:15 because I need to go to bed early tonight. No Super Bowl for me 🙁 I can’t even believe its in my city! Instead of yoga, I read for awhile, drank some rooibos tea and then set out to make blueberry waffles using the new Quaker oatmeal mix!

They turned out really yummy! Especially when topped with maple syrup and fresh strawberries. I just LOVE that its almost strawberry season down here in Florida! Look at the size of this organic and local beauty:

I’m meeting Sarah at church at 9:40 and then Ryan and I are going out to lunch later before he leaves me for a Super Bowl party and I leave to do yoga at house and wind down for work tomorrow! I’m definitely going to tape the halftime show because more than anything,  I LOVE BRUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really.

Today is the first day of the second month of the Living Proof Ministries Scripture Memory Team Challenge. I only recently found out about it (Erica is doing it, too!) and I’m in. Anyone want to do it with me? Basically you commit to memorizing two scriptures a month. The first you memorize from the 1st of the month to the 15th, and then the second you mediate on from the 15th to the end of the month. You can find more details on this website. It would be really fun to get a bunch of us involved!

See you in a bit!

Those waffles look delicious!! Have a great morning at church. My sister tucked a little wallet-sized card in my birthday card last night with my name and meaning, “Ever Powerful”…cool, huh?! And the verse that is on it is awesome, too. I am choosing it for my memorization today:
    “The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,” Nahum 1:7 NIV

Hey Jenna and Bloggies- I have a Q unrelated persay to the post, but I thought you frequent people may be able to help me…
I have terrible allergies- hay fever-like symptoms in many seasons (including now- dead of Winter in Boston!). OTC medications such as claritin and alavert do not seem to help, so I want to try a natural remedy. The lady at Whole Foods who works in the “Whole Body” area showed me 2 types of pills, an herbal one with nettle in it, and one with enzymes. Does anyone know of either of these treatments? Or any other allergy treatment that works? I would appreciate it SOO much- I’m dyin’ up here!!

Glad you got your waffles in…and I am super jealous of that strawberry! I bought some lovely ones at Costco, but I’m looking forward to buying local when they’re in season here…but that’s not until May!

Have a wonderful Sunday Jenna – enjoy Bruce. 🙂

    Zorie,
I know you are asking about an herbal remedy, but I thought I’d mention a few prescription allergy meds that work. Zyrtec (actually, I think you can buy this OTC too now) works really well and is a diff medication that the two you have tried. Singulair also works well (I use it daily myself), but I’m not sure if doc’s only prescribe it for those with asthma symptoms too. It works wonders on my cat and outdoor allergies. I’d talk to your doc for a recommendation and prescription since those are tested and put through clinical trials for safety and efficacy whereas herbal remedies are not. Hope this helps!

I’m definitely up for doing LPM’s scripture memorization this year! What a fantastic idea! Starting late is better than not doing it at all, right?

Also, I’m thinking of starting up a small bible study with a few of my girlfriends, what would you recommend as a first study? Possibly Beth Moore, or if there are any other [free] resources that you know of, I would definitely appreciate any pointers!
