Happy New Year!!!!!!
Here’s to wonderful 2009!
Needless to say, we had a fun night. Pretty obvious, huh?! I’m sure yall know that the debauchery that took place is not an every day occurrence for me. But it WAS New Years!
Ryan and I left for the bar at about 10:15 and we met Erin (his sis–the blond in the above photo) and a bunch of friends there. I basically stuck to drinking vodka and club soda all night, which is my usual “bar drink”. Erin did bring champagne in her purse though and all us girls had a cup of that a little before midnight. Oh, and then there was a shot of grandma with pineapple juice around 1 am. Oops. We left the bar around 2:30 and before getting in the cab, Ryan just HAD to get a cheeseburger and I ate about half-—
When we arose this morning around 10 (!!!) we realized that the car was still at the bar and my car was at my parent’s house since I rode my bike over yesterday afternoon. Soooooo…….I had to ride my bike back to the bar this morning, put the bike in the trunk of the car and then drive back to the condo. It was a sight to be seen for sure.
Before heading out on my bike this morning I had a banana (and drank a Fuze!):
And then once I had made it back and dropped off the bike, I picked up Ryan and we went to Daily Eats for brunch. I got eggs benedict since its a holiday!
And polished off about a quarter of this amazing whole wheat buttermilk pancake with blueberries and bananas in it 🙂
I’m about to bike home and perhaps do a detox yoga flow to rid myself of all the booze in my pores. Tonight Ryan and I are getting pizza, watching football then going to finally see Four Christmases!

January 1, 2009 at 1:42 pmI loved Four Christmases! My only complaint is that they really did give everything away in the previews. I HATE when that happens! Happy 2009 everyone!!!! 🙂

January 1, 2009 at 1:53 pmWhy is it that burgers always taste amazing in the wee hours after an evening of debauchery? 🙂
Glad you had fun, and I’m still laughing about you having to bike back to the bar. Enjoy your pizza and football tonight. Perfect New Years’ Day activities. Happy 2009 Jenna!

January 1, 2009 at 6:22 pmI am a little behind on blog reading (and maybe a little hungover) but I just read your new year’s resolutions from yesterday I wanted to share this AMAZING article from yogajournal.com about how studies say yoga IS enough to keep you “fit” in terms of exercise:
http://www.yogajournal.com/practice/739?page=1
I am a huge yoga person too and sometimes struggle with the same thing you said about feeling it’s “acceptable” NOT to spend hours grinding away on the stairmaster, but this article really showed me as long as you practice strong and keep up other activities you enjoy and stay active throughout the day (walking places, biking, etc) yoga is the perfect exercise for your body and soul. 🙂
I am not a super frequent commenter but I love your blog and read it all the time! Thanks!

January 3, 2009 at 9:39 pmMmmm… Eggs Benedict are my FAVORITE breakfast food! I don’t get them very often, since they’re so rich, but man are they delish! A perfect hangover choice!
