Is It Bedtime Yet?

I was doing SO good today until around the 3 pm hour. That’s when it always hits, doesn’t it?! Somehow, someway, I made it through a kick butt 75 minute flow this morning. For everyone that was present in classes today, we donated $10 to the Red Cross for Haiti relief…and just this morning alone, we raised over $180. Amazing! The energy was rockin’ and then afterward, the notorious Lululemon trunk sale took place. I tried to exit the studio as fast as possible but still seemed to leave with a new pair of under wunder crops and a long sleeve pullover (rationalized this decision because of my upcoming cycling adventure). Oops.

Came home and made a quick lunch of an Amy’s California burger in an Ezekiel wrap with hummus, lettuce and hot sauce with blue corn chips on the side—

I had a rather massive grocery shop this afternoon because I seemed to have been out of everything at my house! Excited to finally restock my bananas! 🙂 And I found barney butter on sale at Whole Foods! Snack was 1/2 c Oikos with whatever crumbs were left in the Kashi bag + spoonful of pumpkin butter:

I almost took a nap around 3 but then pulled myself together and got a bit of freelance work done instead. I don’t really “do” naps. I love the idea of them but when I lay down to take them my mind will start going a million different directions and I’ll think about all the things I “should” be doing instead. So, alas, I limit my naps to savasana in yoga 🙂
Dinner was great though!

I used Dreena Burton’s recipe for spicy peanut sauce (as found in Eat, Drink and Be Vegan–Thai Chick-Un pizza) and spread it on a whole wheat pita with some chickpeas and red pepper slices. Then I baked my little “pizza” for 10 minutes at 400 degrees till the pita edges were all crispy and the sauce had heated through. Served it alongside a green salad with balsamic vin and lemon juice, carrot sticks and the rest of my bell pepper. So good!
Dessert was cinnamon puffins and dark chocolate chips 🙂

Okay, NOW I’m reallyyyyyyyyy ready for bed…and it’s 6:45. If I can be asleep by 8:00 it would be a miraculous event. I’ll probably wake up at like 4:30 in the morning, ready to start my day, but that’s okay…I have plenty of book work to do since I haven’t written a word of it since Friday!
GOODNIGHT!

Hey, I think it’s admirable that you only left with two piece of clothing from the trunk show. Will power is a virtue;)

Productive day girl!! I don’t know how you handle the book writing, the blog and work and yoga…and it all!
Funny about the clothing just happening to “exit” with you…I do the same thing with groceries…oh God – it’s horrible – I swear I could have a lot of money saved otherwise – that and books – it’s like the College student’s equivalent of pizza and beer!!

Also, way to go on the yogini fundraising. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the situation in Haiti. So overwhelmingly tragic. It is nice to see such an outpouring of help from other countries, though.

Hey there, I just wanted you to know your meals always inspire me! You keep it simple, but you make it so good–and you manage to keep a variety in your diet which I sometimes struggle to do! Your little pizza looks delicious, I’ll have to try it some time.
I’m a bit of a runner myself, but like you was recently sort of injured (just a pulled muscle, and it’s actually already better) so I’ve also been inspired by how you’ve found other ways to be physical. I also love hot yoga (and live near a Baron Baptiste studio)! I recently tried spinning, too (phew!) Have you every tried swimming? It’s a great workout.
Good for you for doing the Echelon Gran Fondo! That’s awesome.

When I opened my Google reader I thought my post from yesterday got on your feed! lol I guess we were both zonked yesterday.

Naps are tough. I can’t do the quick naps either for the same reason. If I keep resting, though, I’ll end up asleep for 2-3 hours! That’s no good. So I just avoid naps.

Hope you got caught up on sleep!

    January 19, 2010 at 6:50 am

I agree about naps, they always throw me off, no matter how much I need them! I find that just sitting and sipping on some water or coffee will wake me up enough to make it through the day 🙂

How could you not stop by the trunk sale?!? Sounds like you exercised amazing self control, actually 🙂

I love naps! I don’t take them as much as I used to, but they make me feel so warm and cozy…but yes, also a little hazy and off…maybe that’s why I like them 🙂

I’m a CHAMPION napper, although I sadly get to take them pretty rarely tehse days (being an adult is the WORST). It’s actually a little awk b/c I actually like PASS out during savasna. I feel like I can only go to yoga w/ a friend so that I have someone to wake me up at the end.

I can not wait to make my first Lulu purchase! The closest store is an hour and a half away from me so it will be an all day event but I am sure it will be worth it : )
