It’s Go Time

by jenna on November 4, 2009

Hey guys!

Sorry for the late post; I’ve been running around all morning long and just now finally sat to get some work done.

This morning I had my last breakfast with Kevin and Eli….I’m thinking the three of us should form a breakfast club, but that’s just me. ;) I brought them Amazing Grass goodie bags, naturally.

Yes!

I had yogurt, granola, fruit and a piece of country bread with jam.

After we ate the guys headed down to San Francisco and are catching a red eye back to Atlanta tonight. It’s been a total and complete blast getting to know them though and I’m hoping to see them again at a few food and wine events in the upcoming months.

After breakfast I finally got my butt in motion (no pun intended) and went and joined Parkpoint, the health club here in town. It’s just something that had to be done….it’s starting to get colder and I can’t just do yoga on my floor every day. This gym is super nice and has a ton of great classes, plus it’s only about a mile from my house. Today I did 25 minutes on the elliptical (didn’t hurt my ankle!) followed by triceps, biceps, back and abs. Finally!

And then I went grocery shopping for the first time in weeks. No picture because I had about a million and one things in my arms but lots of fresh veggies, veggie burgers and yogurt.

Lunch was a HUGE salad with heirloom tomatoes, 1/4th of an avocado, a light babybel cheese and carrots, topped with hummus & hot sauce…obviously! With a yogurt on the side:

I’m working from home all afternoon and have SO much to get done, including tackling my inbox which currently has about 250 emails in it. If you emailed me in the past 4 days and I haven’t responded, I’m going to get to you now! I haven’t had a second with all the Top Chef stuff going on but I plan to get back on track today. Also have some Amazing Grass stuff to take care of and a few freelance articles to get done.

See you in a bit!

They are friends with hardy, who works for Murphy-Goode, and we just thought it would be a blast!

I love the healthy goody bag love. Way to pay it forward with nutrition!

Congrats on joining the gym. They are helpful in the cold months when it’s too cold to venture outside for a run. I tend to be gym shy (they can feel really sterile to me) but man, strength training has changed my life…or at the very least, my legs.

Since you joined a gym, does that mean that you’ve given up on finding a yoga studio? Or did I just miss a post somewhere… I SO love Top Chef – one of the reasons I haven’t been able to go to a lower level of cable service! I am jealous – jealous of your job, and jealous of living in CA where you can get fresh veggies more than just 3-4 months out of the year. Not only do they not taste as good, but they’re really expensive out of season, too! I will live (eat?) vicariously through you until summer comes to OH again. :-)
