Behind The Butter/ Breakfast

Just Another Monday

Wheeww! Woke up a liiiitle groggy this morning. I just keep on chugging down Amazing Grass though….it gets me through (as well does reallyyy strong coffee…)

I’m so glad you all liked hearing about my first Top Chef experience last night! It was a BLAST and Kevin and Eli are probably the two nicest, down to earth chefs I’ve ever met. I mean, heck, they invited me to have breakfast with them this morning at their hotel because I gushed so much about Hotel Healdsburg’s amazing granola!!! Unfortunately I have to be at work early this morning so I had to turn down the offer but that just proves how awesome these guys are. Kevin…Eli…..tomorrow morning…..granola. I’ll be there. πŸ˜‰

Instead, I had to settle with pumpkin oatmeal

IMG_0847

This was the same as yesterday—1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup canned pumpkin, cinnamon, sea salt and almond butter. Not as good as Hotel Healdsburg granola but it’ll do. πŸ˜‰

***

Today I’m working from 9-5 then heading over to Hardy’s for the backyard barbecue. I’ll be tweeting so follow our party there by searching #mgchef.

I leave you with more photos….since yesterday I took, errr, 375.

Re the Marin Headland 1,000+ year old trees–excellent book if haven’t read is ‘The Legacy of Luna’ by Julia Butterfly Hill….amazingly brave story penned by a tiny 23-year old girl, what she undertook and did to save the ancient trees required unbelievable raw guts…and it happened right in the vicinity where you were standing. So well written, too. Couldn’t put it down.
