Behind The Butter

let’s talk

In exactly 10 days I’ll be on a plane headed to the Baptiste Power Flow Immersion in Colorado! I’ve never been to Colorado. I gave up a trip to Austin with my man and a free ticket to ACL for this. What did I get myself into? Help.

All I can think about lately is coffee! Cappuccinos, lattes, espresso, french press….with a side of pumpkin cupcake, please! (I’m not highly caffeinated or anything, why do you ask?). Speaking of pumpkin cupcakes, the batch I made yesterday is almost gone. I’ve cut each cupcake into half and hidden them in the back of my fridge. Then, when the craving strikes (pretty much every hour or so), I’ll eat half a cold cupcake. Didn’t you know that cupcake halves are calorie-free? Same goes for bacon crumbles, brownie batter and bread crusts.

I stayed up late last night reading this! I really think I was born in the wrong era. But then again…I really love my laptop. And my kindle. And my electronic tea kettle. I have a constant internal battle about it all.

What’s for dinner in your house tonight? We have our couples small group tonight and I’m bringing more of this! It’s cooking right now and smells fabulous.

I just registered for the Foodbuzz Conference in November! Are you going?? I would love to meet you if you are! Let’s be friends. Just don’t let me hold your camera, your expensive camera lens or your trendy glass water bottle because I’ll probably drop and break it. Just a warning.

I just made your channa masala! I think I messed up the recipe a bit but I still really enjoyed it (and im not normally a big Indian fan) and my husband went crazy for it!!

Why didn’t you ask the dinner question last night? Would have been so much more interesting and made me seem like I actually cook! 🙂 Tonight, I am out for a girls only run/walk event for Luna and so my American boy will be fending for himself (lucky for him I just picked up some shrimp on special with a lime chili marinade – ha!). But (if you must know) last night was salmon patties with corn on the cob and spinach salad with farm stand tomatoes, red onion, farm stand cukes, avocado, feta, and homemade vinaigrette. Sadly it can’t compete with your Babaganoush soup, which he’s still requesting be made soon!! 🙂

What’s not in the SF pix is planted seemingly 24/7 for at least the last decade at the end of the Cable Car turnaround just before Nordstrom–is a crazy religious guy always wearing shades and with signs of nutty slogans–shouting angry rude things about fornication to passersby–mostly shocked tourists from Tulsa.

But I digress. I have always thought was born in exactly the right time for me, living in exactly the right place, at every stage. Weird, huh? Don’t know why–just is.

Have a terrifically fun/successful trip! Wow, you are dedicated!
