I’m such a dork. I was riding my bike literally all day long. 🙂
First, I rode over to the library, got a library card and checked out two new books. It took me about 15 minutes to get there and 15 back. I was a little nervous though because it was my first time crossing a major intersection. Don’t worry—-I wore my helmet!
After I got home, I set back out to go to the bike shop then to the bank. I went to the bike shop because I felt like my brakes were too tight and my little bag broke!! They loosened my breaks a little and he even fixed my bag for me! Yay for that! Then, I went to the bank then rode down near the bay all the way home.
I’m thinking in total, I rode about 10 miles maybe? Not too shabby! When I got home from my adventures, I snacked on a 0% Fage with a half cup of Kashi U cereal and a little preserves—-I was hungry from all my biking adventures!
Later on, Ryan and I hit up our favorite hole in the wall Cuban place for some quick eats pre-movie. This place is the ULTIMATE hole in the wall where you sit at a kitchen counter and nothing on the menu is over $6…we love it! Everything is incredibly authentic and they make some mean sangria….
I also had a cup of black bean soup (to which I added ample hot sauce!):
And a “small” cuban—–the small was about a foot long and I only ate half! You really get your bang for your buck here….this sammie was only $3.00!
We saw 4 Christmases tonight. HYSTERICAL. I really liked it up until until the end. I thought the ending could have been stronger. Oh well. It was light and funny and I adore Reese. 🙂
Off to bed early tonight because tomorrow is a big day! Caitlin’s big day!! She is going to look gorgeous and I’m taking the camcorder so we can make a little movie to boot. Oh, how I love weddings!
See you in the morning!

January 2, 2009 at 9:38 pmYour bike adventures are so inspirational! I want to get a bike when it warms up here (I’m from eastern WA… snowy) but I’m really intimidated of roads and stuff. It’s great to hear how much you love it! Keep us posted about any new leg muscles you see popping up or anything, too 🙂

January 2, 2009 at 9:55 pmHi Jenna!!
I feel so ridiculous but this is the first time I am commenting and I have been following your blog for almost a year!! Anyway, I feel like we have a lot in common– I’m really inspired by your food philosophy and I looove France as well! I’m a sophomore in college and I’m actually hoping to do a directed study there comparing its food and eating culture to America.
I recently started a nutrition/ wellness blog myself about trying to maintain a healthy weight, outlook, and set of habits in college and would love to hear any advice you have to give! How did your blog take off so that today companies send you samples of their products to review and you get to go to conferences like the Quaker one earlier this year?? It is definitely my dream to get to that point because I’m really passionate about nutrition and hope to make a living in the field.
Thanks so much and keep up the great work!!! You are such an awesome example of realistic but wholesome eating!
