love means…

by jenna on February 14, 2011

giving up the red gummy bears because you know they’re his favorite.

washing, drying and folding his shirts because you know if you don’t, no one will.

cuddling in a hammock over lake tahoe while listening to Sam Cooke on his iphone.

making an extra batch of these, just because.

taking meticulous notes on how he wants vanilla cake with triple chocolate fudge when he finds out he has to be in a sling for six weeks after a little “incident” on the slopes. That’s what you get when you try to videotape while skiing, I guess!

one whole vanilla cake…coming right up!

I just lost half of my job (hours are cut in half, meaning half a Paycheque).

And on Valentine’s Day. How’s that for cruel?

I think I’d prefer to have a boy do that.

Take care of the boy in the sling.

‘appy V Day indeed.

Jenna, so sorry that he’s in a sling for 6 weeks! Omg that’s awful!

You are the 2nd blog in 12 hours I have read with a winter wonderland type injury…tell Adam to hang in there and get well soon.

And how sweet of you to give up the red gummies, and make a cake, and just post about your beautiful relationship!

Happy Vday to you!

Ack! I hope he’s okay! Skiing terrifies me.

Love is waking up early to make biscuits and sausage gravy, hash browns and scrambled eggs for the man you love. At least in our house it is. He’s been all mushy and sweet to me all day.

We just celebrated 30 years of marriage and what I can tell you is that the secret to a wonderfully happy marriage is simple. It is just finding out what your spouse needs and trying to meet those needs. If your honey needs cake, well then you are one smart girl to give him cake!

Jen @ keepitsimplefoods February 14, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Ooooh, put extra sprinkles on top to make him feel better! We know the real way to a man’s heart after all.

Love the color & pictures, the sweet Good GF Karma, and the simplicity of your Valentine’s Day post. Note to self: my post did not really need to go back to 15,000 BC, to the stars, to Aphrodite, chocolate & champagne. Just stuck a post-it above my desk. K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) ;)

Elevate yourself to girlfriend rockstar status–red gummy bears ON the vanilla cake.
Plus, now you have a post to look back on the next time you have a sniffle and want some pampering…or bacon-laced comfort food.
