Guess what??!
Yours truly just got picked for the TOP 50 for the Murphy Goode Wine Country Correspondant job!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I freaked when I woke up this morning and got the email! I have to write an essay but in the meantime, all of our votes were scratched and now you can only vote for Top 50…..so please vote for me! I think I have, like, two votes so far.
Vote here for Jenna to be picked in the Top 10 on July 7th!!! If I get picked to be in the Top 10, I will get flown out to Sonoma next month for the final interview….and if I make that, my new job will start I believe on August 15th! AhhhhhhH!!!!
This morning it is raining cats and dogs outside. I’m a tad bit nervous about tomorrow but hopefully we’re getting it all out of our system today. Rain + garage sale + bake sale = disaster. I had a chocolate GM and watched the rain fall hard.
This was dynamite this morning! You can’t beat the classic 🙂
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 scoop Chocolate Amazing Meal
- about 3 cups spinach
- 1 scoop peanut butter
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- about 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- ice
I used this yummy peanut butter that Heather gave me when she visited last week! Oh Trader Joe’s, I shall meet you soon in BOSTON!!!!
Ryan and I are selling our microwave at the garage sale!! Look at how much space it opens up in our tiny, tiny kitchen!

So, I’ve been hearing horror stories about Summit registration last night and us Summit girls were definitely on a late-night conference call about it. I’m really, really sorry to those of yall that didn’t get in…it breaks my heart because I would love to meet you ALL! However, do to budgeting we can really only take 125 this year. It sounds like this might be an annual thing that we do so next year it might be bigger!
I’m off to RUN, write another True/Slant article and then write recipes and bake, bake, bake for tomorrow!!!

I just had a random question. My husband and I went to the movies last night and I managed to completely overdo it on the popcorn, and by overdo it I mean almost an entire container. It wasn’t the biggest and I did not add the butter, but with the popcorn I honestly just can’t stop. I was just wondering if there are or have ever been times when you felt you completely overdid it and how you counteracted the next day or so?

Great question. I actually don’t like movie popcorn so I never buy it but I have totally overdid it and felt like crap the next morning about it. I mean, who hasn’t?! My advice to you is that one night of overindulging is NOT going to make or break your diet or even cause you to gain a pound. Its totally, 100% all in your head! You might feel pretty bloated but your body will settle down after a few days. For instance, the day after my birthday dinner two weeks ago I was in the locker room and got on the scale because I was interested just to see how bloated I really was since I felt it! I almost fell OFF the scale when I saw that I had gained six pounds just in water weight. Of course it was just me being bloated and two days later the six pounds was gone. Its not “real weight” that you gained and you have two options: worry yourself sick over something you cannot change and have no control over, or make something positive out of the situation and get up, go to the gym and have a “detox” sort of day. You are beautiful just the way you are and the scale (obviously) lies to us all very often! My favorite thing to do after an indulgent night is to wake up, have a smoothie for breakfast then hit the gym for 30-40 minutes of intense cardio. I’ll take a steam afterwards and love the feeling of sweating out all my toxins. Lunch will be a huge salad and I won’t eat any junk or drink any alcohol the next day. Its not that I am reducing my calories, its just that I am counteracting the previous night.
Popcorn is life and life is way to short not to overdo it sometimes! In the end, we are still here and you still fit into your jeans. Don’t be so hard on yourself!

My Dad tried registering for me since I couldn’t be near a computer at 8 pm and it kept just bringing him to the paypal account with no way to pay the 30 dollars. He was ready 10 minutes before and tried right at 8 pm.

We just freeze them whenever. Sometimes right after I buy them or sometimes later in the week. I peel them and freeze them whole in a plastic baggie. I only use about four-five cubes of ice!

The registering process was such a pain in the rear – it wouldn’t let us purchase 2 tickets at once and then time ran out!
