Miracles

Well, at least we have one miracle happening right now~~apparently, my grandpa only had a 20% chance of making it through the night last night (my mom didn’t tell me this for obvious reasons) but he’s a fighter to the bone and not only survived the night but is doing great! He’s now off life support, awake and talking and they are only keeping him in ICU for the next couple days to monitor. All the doctors just keep shaking their heads in amazement because he was really very close to death last night.

Of course I am thrilled and so is the rest of my family but I just don’t understand (and never will) why my little brother had to die. Where was his miracle? I keep telling myself everything happens for a reason and one day I’ll see him again.

Okay…on to much happier subjects! Food! I’m not going to go into great detail about my experience at The Tampa Bay Fine Wine and Food Festival this afternoon quite yet because I’m working on a whole review of my time there and will add on to it tomorrow after my mom and I go again. That post will be up Monday!

As for today, all I can say is that it was fun!

I got dressed up all pretty

And stayed for about an hour and a half, walking about and taking notes. There’s only so much you can do when you are by yourself and driving so I am expecting tomorrow to be a lot MORE fun when my mama gets to come with me! Stay tuned on Monday for a long post with my complete coverage from the event (and to see everything I nibbled on!)! =)

Once home, I snacked on what might be the best thing yet—pb mousse with raspberry preserves and raw buckwheat crispies!

I used whatever was left in the big Fage container (maybe 3/4 cup?) and mixed it with 2 tbsp PB2. Topped it with raspberry preserves and a sprinkle of crispies and I was in heaven. SO good and satisfying!

Dinner was simple—

I had this pizza waiting at home while my dad picked up my mom from the airport. This was Greenwise pizza on a whole wheat crust with a mix of mozzarella cheese + goat cheese, black olives, onions and peppers. Delish!

I had two yummy slices—

And now I’m calling it a very early night because the alarm goes off at 5:20 tomorrow morning for my first Team in Training practice! Last month at this time, 5:20 would be “sleeping in” and now I’m dreading the alarm! Haha 😉 We meeting at a park about 30 minutes from my condo so I have to get up extra early. I think we are scheduled to run 4 miles tomorrow….not quite sure. I’m bringing watermelon to the potluck after! Wish me luck!

I posted this in the last post but postin it again so everyone can see it:I voted for you in the contest, but I think you might want to mention/ remind your readers that in order for the vote to actually be counted they have to open the follow up email from Murphy- Goode and click the provided link to confirm the vote! I almost missed the email myself- it is titled “Please confirm your selection” from the email address: webmaster@areallygoodejob.com, at first I thought it was spam! I really want u to win, so make sure everyone knows they must confirm for it to be counted!!!!!! =)

Can’t wait to hear about the wine tasting! I went to one 2 Fridays ago and bought 4 bottles of yummy wine: Catena Malbec, Vertikal Gewurztraminer, Antigus Resrvas Cab, and Cruz De Piedra Garnacha! Can’t wait to break into those!
And, I wanted you to know I’m still praying for you. We don’t know why God has certain plans for us or those we love, but all we can do is wait until we see Him one day and then we will know. Keep up your faith, Jenna! You’ll find peace in the Word.

That’s awesome about your grandpa! My grandpa had cancer on his tounge a couple of years ago and it was gut wrenching to know if he would make it out of surgery and recover. But God is good (no matter what) and my grandpa recovered better than ever. Everything happens for a reason just keep trusting God!

Ok, the thought of peanut butter mousse topped with preserves was just too much, and I just ordered my first jar(s) of PB2. I can’t wait to get it and try it with my Fage 0%!!

I lost my mom to cancer 7 years ago and have accepted life works in mysterious ways. I don’t believe everything happens for a reason

ugh, sorry, that posted too quickly.
What I was saying was that I don’t believe that, but I am happy for people that do. I have no idea what’s right. But I think that whatever brings us peace is best.

I am SO happy to hear about Grandpa. Yay!

    Hi Jenna,

I HATE plain yogurt. Does the PB2 disguise the taste of plain unsweetened yogurt? I mean does it really taste like PB?

I’m glad to hear that your grandpa is doing well! And I too broke down and ordered myself some PB2. I cannot wait until it comes in so I can try my hand at some PB mousse.

yeah! Good news on your Grandpa!!! THat IS a miracle! We don’t live that far from each other!! I’m over in Orlando!!!

I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do Team in Training…I get their fliers every time b/c at one point I registered for more information, but I tell you, it seems like EVERYTIME I start training for a marathon I get injured. My knees are also shot too…about mile 7+ they really really really start to ache and throb and it takes forever for them to feel normal again! AH…alas…I don’t think I’m going to be able to check off: complete marathon on my “to do before I die” list!

    I’ll be cheering you on!!!
