Breakfast

Morning Wine

Ahhh, I woke up so totally refreshed this morning! I slept for almost 9 hours last night and was in such a deep deep sleep when the alarm rang that I was soo confused as to what was going on! I also finished my book last night—-read The Heretic’s Daughter! It was SO good!

This morning I had the same breakfast as I did yesterday because yesterday it kept me full for so long! It’s 1/3rd cup multigrain cereal (Bob’s Red Mill) with 3/4 cup soymilk, 1 tsp flax, 1/5 granola plank, 1 spoonful peanut butter and 1/2 of a huuuuge bananer. This combo is sooo creamy and delicious!

I’m also bringing this for a snack later on:

I only bought one this week because I’m on a strict budget…but this is soooo delicious and I couldn’t resist!

We have a quiz in Food Cost class and then are doing our first wine tasting (French Whites) in Wines class! I’ll probably spit some of them seeing as it will be at 10 in the morning…hahaha! I’m excited though because I’ve always wanted to learn the “proper way” to taste the wine. I will fill you guys in this afternoon for sure!

Happy Humpday!!

I can’t wait to hear about the wine tasting! I love wine but I am not a guru, I just drink what I like. 🙂

Can I come to school with you, please? I am slowly but surely attempting to become a wine guru, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, lemme tell ya 😉

Ahhh, I got a wonderful night’s sleep last night, too! Probably the best in about a week. I can’t thank you enough for your kind words yesterday! It meant a lot to me. I was posting from my phone yesterday so I could see when I got the comments, but I couldn’t comment back (or maybe I just haven’t figured that part out yet!). I hope you were feeling my thankfulness! 🙂

No need to spit the wine…it’s 5 o’clock somewhere! *lol*

    Glad you liked your book!!

WHEW that’s a bright bowl of cereal – almost blinding!! But I love yellow, so it’s all good, haha 😀

YOU’RE BRINGING MY #1 FLAVOR LARABAR!!! Excellent.

    Good luck with your quiz!

Have you ever tried making your own LARAbars? I do, and they’re super easy! For the peanut butter cookie, you only need about a few TBS of dates and a TBS of peanuts (dry roasted unsalted) and you’re good to go. That’s per bar…I form it into bar shape with plastic wrap and they’re so good, and so much cheaper!

best breakfast ever. i think i have it almost every morning and rarely get sick of it hehe. i can’t imagine drinking wine that early either! but it will be so cool to learn about wine… my uncle can tell the difference about how old or what area of the country the grapes were from with a single sip! it’s so crazy

I”ve heard that the proper way to taste wine is to spit it out anyway since swallowing the alcohol it could effect your taste buds for the next one you taste, I’m curious to see what your teacher says! So fun!

I don’t know if I could spit out wine. But I guess at 10 in the morning you kind of have to.

I just saw you made the oatmeal bars last night… do you think you can freeze those with the choc chips and they would be good.. and do you think they would make a good snack to hold you over?

    Hey Jenna,

I am having 5 giflriends over to my house for brunch on Sunday. I am going to make those oatmeal bars for sure! I think that will be dessert and the main course will be a quiche or frittata.

    Have a great day!

I made overnight oatmeal and it was a huge time saver! I mixed in wheat berries, pear, pumpkin, and cinnamon and warmed it up in the microwave. It was great!

I’m jealous of your PB Larabar- still no sign of those in Dallas 🙁

Hope wine tasting was wonderful! I am so intimidated by that kind of thing because I’m not a very good “taster”– e.g. I can’t tell the diff. between diet and regular soda, unwashed quinoa is not bitter to me, etc. It SOUNDS like fun but I bet it’s a lot harder than it sounds.
