Lunch

Not Again!!!!

wow. I hadn’t even let Dexter out for five minutes when he clawed the duck tape away that covered up the hole in the kitchen that he got stuck in last week and climbed up there again!!!!!!!! We couldn’t believe it!!!!!!! It was all duck taped up neatly and tightly, I turn my back for a second and he is gone. So yeah, three hours later, the cabinet once again taken apart, Dexter got pulled out by Ryan. We stuffed towels up in the hole now AND duck taped it even tighter so hopefully he will not be able to get up there again.

Lunch was hectic and quick because I was trying to pull him out (and ready to go lay out by the pool) as you can see. I made a quick toasted almond butter sandwich on whole wheat bread with an apple. Then, just now, I made the best banana smoothie ever. All I did was blend a frozen banana with a half cup of vanilla almond milk with a little tiny bit honey but I swear this tasted like melted vanilla ice cream. It was soooo good and creamy.

I’ve had a bit of a headache all day and think I’m going to try to take a little nap on the couch before tonight. The tentative plan is to go out for sushi before the party and we all have to meet at the first bar at 7:30. I’ll have my camera, don’t worry!

Awe, poor Dexter (and poor Ryan for having to get him out!) Hey, is that a tattoo I see? Cool!

Sometimes an easy meal is the best meal 🙂 A toasted AB sandwich sounds good to me after all that!

Aww Dexter is such a little troublemaker, hehe.

Mmm, that sounds like a yummy smoothie. Almond milk is so creamy I can imagine the consistency must have been divine.

HAHA!!! Oh, how I love reading about the latest adventures of Dexter – too cute!! Glad he’s safe, too :0)

Frozen bananas DO lend a “milkshake” consistency to smoothies – your banana-smoothie sounds fabulous!

Ahh girl, I hope your headache goes away soon – especially so that you can enjoy the party tonight!!

Haha Jenna you have the tramp stamp! 🙂

Hehe. Do you regret it at all? Not insinuating you would; just curious.

Have a blast tonight… we’re going out Sand Lake (not sure if that is the street you’re talking about) so if I see a bunch of “golfers” I’ll send ya’ll over a shot.

hahah YES I DO have a tramp stamp!!!!! I always forget it’s there because I got that like 3 years ago. ummm I don’t regret it, I just wish it was something cooler than a flower. my next one will mean something!!

I’m talking about Howard ave here in South Tampa. 9 bars for 9 holes of golf….not sure how many holes I will make!!

oh my gosh, Dexter is too funny! Quite the little mischevious kitty! I’m so glad you got him out safely (once again!).

I agree with Ella regarding your hair. It’s adorable! And also quite pretty 🙂

That smoothie sounds and looks delicious! I love frozen banana in my smoothies, but always have it with additional fruits (usually berries). I will have to try it your way (minus the honey, since I’m vegan). Actually now that I think about it, frozen banana blended up with just some hemp milk sounds delish! I think I will make that tomorrow. Thanks for the idea!

I also love your glass! Can I ask where you got it? I have a thing for sunflowers, and I’ve always loved those glasses with the cloth patches inside them (sorry, I’m not sure what they’re called – do they have a name?) They remind me of my late Nana because she had quite a few. If I could find one with a sunflower I would be so excited!

Hope you have a great time at dinner tonight! 🙂

    babycakes,

you are too sweet. that is some old glass that I found in ryan’s cabinet that I’m just guessing he has had since college (or it was his mom’s). I asked him about it and he claimed not to know where it came from. maybe he is embarrassed because it has a flower on it! I’m pretty sure you could go to target though and find something similar.

the smoothie WAS amazing and would be great with agave instead of honey!

Thanks Jenna! I will look around for a similar glass. I really love it!

And I definitely agree that agave would work as a great replacement for the honey…but actually, I’m thinking I might try just frozen banana and hemp milk – I can’t wait to make this!

Babycakes- its funny you mention the glass, my grandpa has glasses like that with “stuff” inside, only his are golf scenes instead of flowers. (How appropriate for jennas golf themed party tonight!?)

Maybe that glass style was a trend back when our grandparents were younger or something?

Kristen, oh my gosh, those are the EXACT ones my Nana (and grandpa) had! A little golf scene with a flag and hole. My grandparents were both big golfers. Too funny your grandpa has the same ones! I think you may be right – that might have been the type of glasses in style back then. I just think they are so cute 🙂

Hopefully you see this comment (I’m posting so late!) because I really think it’s funny that they have/had the very same glasses!
