I’m a day late, but here’s my list of October Favorites…starting with this pumpkin body butter from Trader Joe’s! It’s thick, creamy and smells divine. I can’t get enough. If you like smelling like pumpkin pie {I clearly do}, this body butter is for you!
These pottery rings. I have one and absolutely love it! It’s my only “statement” ring that doesn’t turn my finger green. I also love the fact that it’s waterproof so I don’t have to remove the ring when I wash my hands a zillion times a day while cooking.
Chocolate Peppermint Amazing Meal. Despite the fact that the temperatures are dropping, we’re on a smoothie kick in this house! Adam LOVES smoothies for breakfasts and I usually make him the same thing every day before he leaves for work — 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop Amazing Meal, 1 big handful baby spinach, 1 scoop peanut butter and 1 cup almond milk. He loves it! The chocolate peppermint flavor is delicious and a nice change from traditional chocolate. My favorite flavor is still Vanilla Chai but this comes in at a close second!
Tom’s Nepal Boots. I got these because after five years of solid wear, my black Uggs are finally on their last leg. I wanted a pair of really comfy winter boots and picked these because a) I love Toms and b) they are absolutely adorable! I’ve only worn them a few times so far but just love them. They are a bit of a slimmer fit than Uggs, and look great with skinny jeans. Highly recommend!
Gone Girl. I finally caved and read the book everyone in the world seemed to be obsessed with. I was prepared to not really like it, as it’s not the type of book I typically am drawn to, but surprised myself! I really couldn’t put it down and read it all in one sitting. If you haven’t read this yet, what are you waiting for?! It’s the perfect “curl up by the fire” book. Just be warned – you’re be addicted! Unfortunately, I did not care for the ending at all and that was a bummer…but loved the rest!
Josie Maran Lip Stain. I took advantage of some loving tax-free shopping at Sephora while in Portland last month and this was my favorite purchase by far! It’s like a marker for your lips and the color really does last a really long time {even after eating and drinking}. I got the “toasted beige” shade and it’s basically my dream lip color in life. I adore it!
This super comfy pullover! I was gifted one of these pullovers for being a speaker at the Influence Conference and let me just tell you, it has hardly left my body in a month. Well, actually that sounds bad…I mean, I take it off to wash it…but then I put it back on. It’s SO soft and comfy and I sleep in it all the time. It also looks cute thrown over yoga clothes for running errands! Micah 6:8 is on the front – a great message for us all to remember.
This tea. Of all the gazillion boxes of tea I have currently stashed in the cabinet, this might be current favorite. Sometimes ginger tea can come on a bit strong…but this is mild and soothing. Great for nighttime!
Leggings + sweaters. Need I say more?
Lowlights. This month, I got some darker shades put in my hair and love it!
Hot & Sour Soup. We discovered a new {well, not technically new but new to us} Chinese food place in our neighborhood and I’ve been gorging on their delicious hot & sour soup. Seriously can’t get enough. We may or may not have eaten take-out twice that week. Oops.

November 1, 2013 at 1:25 pmThose Toms are adorable and thank for the comparison to them and Uggs. The issue with Uggs and jeans is the fit and glad to know the Toms fit a little slimmer. I also didnt know Amazing Grass did ‘special edition’ flavors – bet that one is great! And love the Tjs pumpkin butter!

November 1, 2013 at 3:38 pmHot & Sour soup is the BEST! I truly believe it has curing properties! Have a cold? Are you cold? Feeling down? Or a little hungover? I turn to it for everything! So yummy!!!

November 1, 2013 at 9:25 pmGone Girl is a book that totally lived up to the hype, in my opinion. It’s just that good! Also, that Josie Maran lip stain is calling my name- her products are fab!

November 1, 2013 at 10:27 pmI loved that book. I need to start a new one ASAP – I’ve been missing out on reading. And I need to snag some more of that pumpkin body butter before it’s gone – I used most of my container from the month!

November 2, 2013 at 6:50 amToday is my monthly trip to Trader Joe’s so I’m going to definitely have to pick up that body butter. I’ve been wondering about it for awhile. I wish I would have known about that ginger tea months ago when I was battling insane morning sickness – all the other ones I’ve tried were so spicy/strong/pungent that they made the nausea worse rather than soothing it. And yes, leggings + sweaters = love.

November 2, 2013 at 7:42 amLOVE that sweatshirt, need to read that book.
And I’m obsessed with hot & sour soup. Have you ever tried making it? I’m afraid to know what’s actually IN it. haha

November 2, 2013 at 11:41 amTerrific list, Jenna. I still love these personal “coffee chat” posts best of all. I miss hearing from you in this context on a regular basis.
As it turns out, I’m on my way to TJs excited to try out that pumpkin body butter. Oh, and that tea sounds right up my ally…I generally find packaged tea flavorless, so I buy ginger (dried, tea cut) and brew a cup of that nightly. It is quite ‘zingy’ but I find ginger cures whatever ails, and is calming while also being energizing. Excited to try your suggestion for a change though. Those boots are adorable too! I wasn’t as enthusiastic re. Good Girl as you…thought it was just okay.

November 3, 2013 at 9:30 amI love the pumpkin body lotion but prefer the coconut more! Lip stains are the best. Seriously, I wear lip stain everyday even when I am not wearing any makeup.

November 4, 2013 at 7:33 ami’m glad you read ‘gone girl’! it’s definitely a quick read because of the way it totally hooks you. what did you think of the ending?
i am dying to get my hands on some of this TJ’s pumpkin body butter. i need to make a trip there. it’s been too long!
those boots are adorable. i have a pair of brown leather boots with a sweater-material on them too. i love the contrasting fabric types.
um those pottery rings are adorable! i’m just too cheap to spend $24 on a ring. yes i know that the cheaper ones will turn my finger green but…i need to save my money for cocktails. ha!

November 4, 2013 at 9:41 amAgree with you about Gone Girl! Definitely read it in one day, I couldn’t put it down! What do you think about the casting for the movie – Ben Affleck as Nick?

November 5, 2013 at 6:41 amHi there-I have a question about the smoothies you make. I usually make smoothies with chia seeds, spinach, almond milk, a frozen banana, and a cup of some other frozen fruit. What do you usually put in your smoothies when you use the Vanilla flavored Amazing Meal?
Kim
November 6, 2013 at 6:17 pmI agree with you about Gone Girl. Loved the book, but did not like the ending.
