Dessert/ Dinner/ Lunch

On FIRE!

Good evening!

Hope y’all had a good Friday. I was on FIRE with writing today. I love days like that…..I sat down to write, the words started flowing and next thing I know hours have gone by and I’ve written about 15 pages!!!!!! what what?!

Morning snack was an apple (no picture)..sorry! And afternoon snack was a jumbo grapefruit:

I had lunch with my friend Michaela at Cafe Chloe, which is this great little hidden gem in Santa Rosa. I had the quinoa and roasted carrot salad and it was delicious.

Love that French bread!

I actually headed into the city later in the afternoon because I had a dinner date with Katie, a blog reader who just moved to the area from New York. The blogging world is so weird….so often we feel like we really “know” each other because a big part of our lives are shared online. Katie and I have kept up for over two years now and I was so excited to finally meet her in person! Like me, she’s a culinary school grad and we had lots of fun stories to share. We met at La Med, which is one of my favorite spots in Fillmore.

Can I just say how much I adore San Francisco? I would totally live there if I could afford it….hah. 😉 At the restaurant, Katie and I both had a glass of red wine and the Mediterranean salad, which basically is a little of everything….hummus, tabbouli, lentil salad, potato salad…the works!

After dinner I ran across the street to my beloved Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and grabbed a peach tea latte because I thought it might be almost as delicious as their winter dream lattes….(Beth, have you tried this??!)

Backfire. Twas gross. I took a few sips and then tossed it. When I got home I ate my last crumble bar…thank goodness they are gone now!!! 😉
Off to bed….running in the morning and then working Barrel Tasting round 2 again all day!

Are you back running without pain? It’s a wonder you haven’t entered any swimming competitions with all of the sports you take up 😉 That salad looks delicious, is San Fran a lot more expensive than Healdsburg? Love that pic of the bridge, very artsy…

hey, just catching up on your life while trying to figure out why my hubby and i just wasted a couple hours watching the hangover on dvd. he chooses to look at the bright side of the evening where we built a pizza together (he pretended to enjoy the vegan cheese), drank bubbly and snuggled on the couch while i keep thinking “i missed a new episode of ghost whisperer for this stupid movie?” LOL also wondering if you’re familiar with alicia silverstone’s book the kind diet? if so, what are your thoughts? i made her granola tonight and it sure is delicious. i’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years and i’m toying with the idea of a vegan diet.

Two great salads in one day! Wow–I wish all salads looked like those. You are a writing machine. I had to write 1,000 words for a class and barely made it. That’s like breakfast for you 🙂

Both your salads today look amazing! I just had quinoa for the first time recently, and I’m minorly in love.. it could get serious :p I feel exactly the same way about SF! I went to Cal for undergrad, and if I would have had a good job, I would have stayed in a second!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE San Fran!! I have only been once and I was literally depressed for a week when I got back to FL. I remember thinking that I almost wished I wouldn’t have gone b/c I loved it so much. I even painted a painting of the G.G. Bridge when I got back 🙂
Its only missing one thing.. SUNSHINE!! I do think it is so amazing that I would at least try to sacrifice my love for the sunshine to live there b/c it just has so much to enjoy and take in.

San Fran is such an amazing city.

Glad you had an awesome day. It’s strange that we are more motivated some days. I try to get as much sleep as possible because that is the only reason I can pinpoint. I hate those days where I have piles of work and my brain is vacationing on another planet.

Hope this inspiration continues for you! 😀

Used to eat at Le Med all the time when lived in Pac Heights. BTW– Forbes just put out its 7th annual report on BEST CITIES IN US FOR SINGLE PEOPLE. Out of 40 cities examined out for culture, job growth, cost of living for singles, ‘coolness’ etc; my former hometown SAN FRANCISCO #1!!! 🙂

Congrats on the writing! The salad looks amazing.

San Francisco was my place of urban refuge as a teenager and young adult. I hope to settle down there someday! It is expensive, but not nearly as bad as NYC. That salad seriously looks worth the road trip! Not to mention, uniting with fellow bloggers.

Congrats on the writing spree! When the muse is with you, roll with it I say!

I totally know what you mean about the Peach Tea Latte. I tasted it when I visited SF over the weekend and hated it! I was so glad to be back in So Cal, enjoying my Winter Dream Tea Latte (see, more reason for you to visit hehe)!

BTW – Went to La Med per your suggestion, and i LOVED it. Can’t wait to visit Nor Cal again over the summer =)
