Peachy Green

by jenna on July 16, 2009

Good morning! AHhh I know I’m beating this into the ground, but in 48 hours I will on my plane!!!!!!

In other news, the big winner of the Avocate skin line (including Intensive Eye Repair, Lotion, Skin Glow and Body Polish) is…………………………

(drum roll please)

Comment number 743—Megan!!!! Congratulations Megan! Megan wrote: “I would love to try Avocate. I have tried everything under the book for my skin including prescriptions, every infomercial product, and home mixes. Nothing works! I have an extremely fair complexion and acne, so the red spots are all the more obvious. I have developed sensitive skin, so at this point I’m helpless. I can barely put anything on my face without it becoming overly dry while also being broken out. I’m and adult…shouldn’t my skin stop being zitty by now?!”

Megan please email me your mailing address! :)

This morning I had a peachy green monster!

Can you guess what the ingredients were?! ;)
I used a big ripe juicy peach, fresh spinach, 1 cup soymilk, 1 scoop Amazing Meal and 1 scoop raw almond butter. Seeing all of Polly’s yummy peaches covered with drippy almond butter made me crave it in a shake form! :)

Today is my last not-so-busy day. Basically I’m just preparing myself for the weekend! I’m going to do yoga, laundry and start packing. Gah!!!

I’m definitely using a peach in my green monster tomorrow! Well, a nectarine, actually – I have three that will be overripe in the next day or two and I can’t stand to waste fresh fruit!!

Enjoy your day :)

Good for Megan! I hope she gives you an update on how well these products worked for her!

Peaches in a GM huh? That actually sounds really good. I just bought some fresh peaches at the farmers market the other day that are some of the best I’ve ever had….

Jenna,

i was wondering if green monsters would taste good without the banana, so i was excited to see you didn’t add one today. i am thinking of trying one with frozen raspberries and spinach… but i didn’t know if it would taste sweet enough. anyone have thoughts on this or other banana free ones they have tried and liked!?

thanks!

Before reading blogs, I never would’ve thought you could put almond butter together with any other fruit than bananas and apples. Just one more reason why I love blogs — trying new combos!

Good luck this weekend!!

Upon reading your last post (and others) about your yoga practice, a question came to mind: have you ever considered becoming a yoga instructor? You seem to love it SO much, and I think I’ve read that you’ve taken classes for around 6 years or so. Plus, in the pictures of yoga poses you’ve put on the blog before, you have such nice form. I would totally take a class from your thoughtful, positive self! Just curious if you have thought about teaching yoga or just want to focus on enjoying the classes from a personal standpoint :)

Julia,

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get yoga teacher certified but unfortunately its really expensive and I’m in the process of paying off my loan from culinary school….maybe if I get this job out in California I will be able to put some money away to do it! I would love it :)

Have fun with your yoga today and remember to make a nice, comforting dinner. I always have my favorite before I go on a trip since I know I probobly won’t be cooking much!

How does the peach change the texture of the smoothie (if at all)? Good luck with the to-do list – clean laundry always makes me feel accomplished :-)

How do you drink your green monsters at room temp?! Whenever I omit the frozen ingredients, I have to pop mine in the freezer for a few minutes before I can even let it get near me!

Question: Skin on peach or off before blending? I like the skin, just want to know if it’s good in the shake? :)
