Productivity

As usual, I had to rush back to Orlando this morning to get everything done today. I needed to go grocery shopping, clean, do laundry and work more on my project before school tonight. For breakfast, I made 1.5 packets of HempPlus oatmeal with blueberries.

When I got back to my apartment I through together a quick lunch before grocery shopping: a hummus and cheese sandwich with carrot sticks and a plum. I used about 1/4 cup of hummus (didn’t measure—I used the remainder of the container), 1 slice of provolone cheese, lettuce and 2 slices of Rudi’s whole wheat bread. I had never really tried the combo of hummus and cheese and surprisingly they work very well together! This was a delicious and easy sandwich! I’ll have to remember that for packed lunches for work this week…

I went to Target to get apartment stuff (detergent and toilet paper) and whole foods to get groceries. I stocked up on Amy’s, yogurt and cottage cheese, produce and protein for the week. These rotisserie chickens are so great I had to get another. I much prefer chicken sandwiches than turkey lunch meat sandwiches and there’s so much more you can do with all the meat. For only $5.99 it will supply me with four meals. Pretty good if you ask me!

I’m about to change and do one of my yoga downloads then get to work on my project!

Jenna, Where do you get the hemp plus oatmeal? I’m also eyeballing that goat cheese in the pic, my fav. That is goat cheese, isn’t it? I love goat cheese pizza with fresh tomatoes and basil with a drizzle of olive oil. Yum!

    Hi Jenna!
Love the blog as always. When you make 1.5 packets of oats, do you just pitch the remainder? I that like making 3/4 cup? Those sound yummy, I always make just the plain old fashioned kind. Wondered what they taste like.

    Have fun doing yoga!

I agree with the rotisserie chicken vs. deli turkey decision- the chicken is SO much fresher tasting and more filling. Looks like you found some good stuff! Is that goat cheese I see? YUM.

    C,

You can find the hempplus oatmeal at all health food stores and most major supermarkets. Its great for traveling or when you are on the run! And, yes, that is goat cheese….I LOVE goat cheese with just about anything—just wait til tonights dinner 😉

    Polly,

No, I never pitch the extra, I use it next time when I do 1.5 packets. I just roll it up and stick it back in the box. They taste like normal oats but a little sweeter. I do prefer to make my own just because then you don’t have any added sugar at all, but you cannot beat them for traveling! I lived on them while in NC last week!

I’m glad to hear you liked the hummus and cheese combo…I’ve always thought about trying it but then would think it sounded weird.

I love rotisserie chickens- I eat the white meat and Kyle eats the dark. We get at least two, sometimes three meals out of them. I freeze the last little scraps, and when we have enough, I make it into a dish we call “Chicken in a Biscuit”. I was actually going to make a batch this week!

I love hummus & cheese sandwiches (I usually add mustard too because I love mustard)! Also, I recently tried those Amy’s California burgers after seeing them on your blog, so good! Hope you are enjoying yoga 🙂

Hummus is great- my friend, who is Israeli, used to eat hummus and turkey breast or chicken all the time- she also used to eat meat for breakfast, because in Israel they actually eat things like tuna and chicken and salads for breakfast- or atleast they did when I visited there….

Thanks Jenna, I was thinking those oats would be good to keep on hand in my “pantry” at work for emergencies. Can’t wait to see what dinner is!

I’m with you on rotisserie chickens- I bought one nearly 5 days ago now and even with eating it every day I still have enough left for a couple of sandwiches or salads. Definitely better than sliced deli meat!

I much prefer rotisserie chicken to lunch meat. In fact, i can’t stand lunch meat much anymore. Plus they last quite a while. My favorite is the one from Costco- some of the other places dont seem to cook theirs long enough, but Costco gets it just right 🙂

    FYI
I noticed that at SuperTarget, Amys frozen meals are much cheaper than any other place. You might want to check it out if you have one!
