Lunch

Ready for Snoop!

Ryan treated me to my favorite little diner near our apartment for lunch today! We usually go for breakfast (they have the best breakfasts and make really yummy egg white omelets!) but today I branched out and ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered a “Cali Shredder Bowl” with brown rice at the bottom, then lettuce, and topped with chicken, grape tomatoes, a sprinkle of goat cheese and fresh guacamole. I requested the dressing to be on the side and I only used one of those little cups on my salad. It was soooo delicious and I was so starving when I got there I was about to eat my arm. I basically ate the entire thing, leaving only a little left on the bottom, which Ryan finished for me. It tasted very fresh and healthy and my body was craving it after doing cardio this morning.

After lunch we went over and hung out with my parents for awhile and now are are back and leaving for the concert in about an hour. I’m not planning on drinking much tonight because I start my new class tomorrow and want to feel great, not lousy and hungover!

Just now, I snacked on one of my new balance bars. Seriously when I start making my workouts more intense, my appetite goes WAY up! It seriously sky rockets. So, you might see me eating more than I have been as I continue to work on my strength training in the upcoming weeks. Need that fuel!! 🙂 My balance bar was AWESOME. One of the best bars I’ve ever had. It was just like a larabar, but chewier. I liked the texture better actually. And, it contains more protein than a larabar so it should keep me fuller for longer. Too bad these guys are so expensive; I really enjoyed the taste!

I’ll probably post tonight’s post in the morning since I’m sure we will be getting back quite late from the concert tonight! It’s about to rain here and I’m very glad we have actual seats rather than just sitting on the lawn (not that that’s not fun but not so much when its pouring outside).

Have a great night!

    Jenna,
I love that you eat when you are hungry, I say why be hungry when your body needs fuel? Love it. Go Jenna!

We are going to Orlando for the week!! Mickey Mouse time! I am not sure if you go to Disney often, but any recommendations on healthy places to eat? We have no car, so all will be within WDW.

    Thanks!

I’m the same with food. I work out a lot so I eat like a man. Which makes me want to work out MORE so I can eat even MORE! It’s a reciprocal relationship! 😉 Have fun at Snoop FOR RIZZLE!

I just saw Snoop in Nebraska a little less than a month ago. He put on a pretty good show… but I’m a bit biased since I’ve been a little obsessed with him since, oh, junior high! 🙂 Hope you enjoy the concert too!

I just saw Snoop a few weeks ago at the Bluesfest in Ottawa (where I live), he is AMAZING! Such a cool showman!
I’m so jealous about the Balance Bars, I cannot find them ANYWHERE here, but I’ve tried a couple of the ThinkProtein bars that were FABULOUS. I think in the States they are called something else though (ThinkThin perhaps?)
    Enjoy the concert!

Cali shredder bowl. Yum. That looks delicious. And I agree with Polly; I think it’s so wonderful that you listen to your body and eat when you’re hungry. That is so rare.

    Have fun at the concert!

I love Daily Eats Jenna! I get the mexican omelette when I go, it rules.

Polly, around Disney I would check out Boma, California Grill and Bluezoo if you are able. Places around there are a lot of $, but if you have a vacation budget…

If you can, get out of the area just a tiny ways down to “restaurant row” (Sand Lake Drive) and you can go to Roy’s, Season 52, Moonfish or Bonefish, all pretty good, IMO.

Jenna, that salad looks fantastic! And thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us regarding your fitness goals and food intake. I know I’m not the only one who is inspired by you constantly. Especially with incorporating new and different foods in your diet- have helped me be “ok” with eating cheese again!

That salad looks amazing! I love it when I go out to eat and there are things on the menu that I love and can duplicate on my own.

That diner bowl sounds fab!! And thanks for the review on the Balance Bar…I’m definitely a bar girl and rely on snacks like that (on-the-go fuel sources) all the time, so it’s nice to know about others!

    Jenna-
The next time you eat one of those bars would you mind photographing it unwrapped? I am very curious what it looks like. Thanks!

That salad looks really good- more restaurants should offer shredded chicken on salads!

Hope you had fun at the concert! We randomly saw a Snoop show a few years back and it was a blast… he had his entire family/entourage on stage with him.

They are cheaper up here in Baltimore 🙂 I got the cashew choc. for some reason I have a choc. thing going on today. It was very good. But they had all different kinds and I got also the wrong kind, I should have gotten pare only I also got PURE and Organic. Bare has a long list of ingredients – not cool 🙁 They were $1.49 which is OK.

Hey I was scrolling down at your posts (looking for that famous ab-workout!) and saw your “Shredder Bowl” which I know is from Daily Eats. I love getting their sweet potato fries and veggie chili. Carbs much? But oh-so-divine!

Hey Jenna… if you live near a Wal-Mart, I found the Cherry Pecan flavor there today for 98 cents! I didn’t see any other flavors (which is a shame because I really want to try the Banana Cashew one!), but I bought one and can’t wait to try it!
