Morning!
Well my 11 miler ended up being only a 6 miler but that’s okay. I’m totally going to get rocked by this half marathon next weekend! Honestly though, and I hate to complain, but I am just so worn out. The past two weeks have totally rocked me, between moving across the country, starting a new job, living on a couch, moving into my own apartment on my own, flying to new york city, flying back, running, blogging….everything. I’m BEAT! It took everything I had to pull myself out of bed this morning (my house was a lovely 63 degrees when I woke up and my bed was soooo warm!), get on my running clothes and get out the door. I sort of feel like I want to go sleep and wake up in two weeks. I need to rest.
Alas, I DID pick myself up though and get out this morning because I knew my race was next weekend and this was my last “long” run. I had an almond butter, pumpkin butter and half banana sandwich before heading out the door—
My run took me down through downtown Healdsburg and up Dry Creek Road, where the views were spectacular and the hills were intense. I could probably have kicked my own butt even more and pushed myself to do the whole 11 but I just was too tired. More than anything I want to go to a yoga class but there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day right now and I have to work again tomorrow. Hopefully one day next week I can go to Bikram…that would be nice.
After an hour of running, I trekked back up the winding staircase to my cold attic (need to figure out this heat situation, asap) and had a yogurt bowl with a cup of TJs yogurt, the other half of my banana, half a small melon from the farm, some puffins and pumpkin butter.
And I made a much better cup of french press, minus the explosion. Sipping while I stand and blog in my little bubble of wireless internet:
MAJOR laundry to do today as well as more cleaning and unpacking…hopefully I’ll find out today if I actually am staying here or if I need to start looking for another home. Keeps things interesting, no? A HUGE thank you to Star, who created this gorgeous new header for the blog!!! Thank you so much; I love it!
Time to hit the showers!

No wonder you’re tired, you’ve made so many major transitions in the last few weeks, it’s impressive you even got out of bed for a run this morning! Try and keep the momentum going and hopefully soon you’ll be able to have a little more “me time.”
OOo pretty header!

Oo nice header!
Hope you get some rest soon
Love the new header. Gorgeous! Also, the view from your “little bubble of wireless” is beautiful!!
Jenna –
So sad. But just want to say good luck! It’s a beautiful race, and so crisp and perfect. The hill at mile 6 seems killer, but just take it steady and slow and you’ll do great! After the view at mile 9 or so it’s all downhill/flat. It’s beautiful!! Have fun!
First, I love your new header! Second, you’re doing the Women’s Nike right? Good luck! This is my first in 3 years of not doing it
Love the new header, Jenna! I also love your support local foods mug in my fave color. Where did you get that?
You will be fine during the half. Last year about this time, I ran one without ever training over 5-6 miles. Just go slow and easy, and you’ll do great!
Take care of yourself. you and your body have had a whirlwind of a week
Your new header is gorgeous. Makes me want to drive up to wine country ASAP! And as for the 1/2 marathon, just do your best. That’s all you can ask of yourself.
love the new header its gorgious!
I usually don’t “yell” in the comments but I LOVE YOUR NEW HEADER, IT IS BEAUTIFUL
and don’t worry about your half marathon, you managed to raise so much money for a great cause and that is all that really matters, you are allowed to show up and just walk the whole distance
Just keep thinking of that Tiffany’s necklace waiting for you at the end next weekend
I love the new header! Don’t worry about the run today or the half marathon. I am sure that next weekend you will finish the race and you have raised a lot of money for the L&LS, which is awesome!
I love your new header too..ahhhh ” a girl on a healthy mission” your header seems to speak to your beautiful journey of life! Congrats to seeking to find your true self!!
The new header is awesome!
Girl, you’ve earned the right to complain! It’s very understandable to be worn out after all this.
By the way, you’re new banner is beautiful!
you rock for getting up and running those six miles…i don’t think i could do the same in your state! i hope you’re able to get some rest today!!
You will do fine next weekend. The run is scenic and there will be so many supporters there to cheer you on. I believe more than a few hulky firefighters will be waiting at the end to congratulate you and the rest of the runners, too. Good luck!!!
LOVE the new header! Much more appropriate now
Don’t add the half marathon to your list of things to stress about. You’ll be able to finish it and that’s all that matters!
i love your new header!!
Hey There! You are supposed to be tapering on your mileage so 6 is GREAT! now rest will be the best thing for you! On event day you will be carried along with the crowd and have a great time! May I suggest having a name for each mile during the event as encouragement? Remeber the reason! Go Team in Training!

GORGEOUS new header, sunshine!
Email me when you get a minute, okay? :O) Love you! I wanted to tell you that the time I ran my best (felt so good and got a great time!) half marathon is the time I trained LESS instead of more. My longest run was 7 miles. Woopwoop! I was so happy I never ran longer before hand, just have fun sweetie. Your life is so full, no matter if you walk or run or crawl that race… you’ll be there, IN CALIFORNIA, changing your entire life, meeting new and amazing people, and still continue to be your true, sweet self. The Lord is smiling.
Hugs Hugs Hugs!!!! XOXO
Don’t forget… I need your address. Also, have you tried pumpkin in your oats? It’s SUPER cheap and orange and yum.
Oh! Yoga! Can’t wait for you to find a studio…how exciting! Don’t forget my 10 minute videos are there for you ANYtime, for free! HUGS! XOXO
I love the new picture (and font), it’s beautiful!
I love love love the new header pic! Seems perfect– new state, new home, new job, new city, new header! Loves it
I was thinking yesterday how your header said something about you being a baker….which I haven’t seen a lot of since I started reading your blog. But you have a LOT of exciting stuff going on in your life and I think the new header is really wonderful. I hope you few hours of “rest” serve you really well.
Your new header is so beautiful. It fits your new life style…. love it !
Your new header is so picturesque!! I can’t wait for our next trip to wine country. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I totally understand how you are feeling about the runs. I trained for a 1/2 marathon in May and I felt the same way at towards the end. The race was such a sense of accomplishment when it was over, so it was all worth it! Best of luck with last few weeks of training!
Take care of yourself, you sound so frazzled
Love the new header! Great job on your run! You will do great at your half marathon. Believe me once you get to the race line and are surrounded by others — that gives you motivation. Hard to explain… it is just something that you feel.
LOVE the new header Jenna!
love the new header!
