Hi guys!
I’m glad you all enjoyed reading my post earlier! Thank you for all the positive comments 🙂
I’ve been running around like a chicken with her head cut off this morning…woke up and the blog had crashed again and then lost my camera for an hour before I realized it was in my pocket. Sigh. Never fear though, the blog is back up for good now…another huge thank you to Mr. Beaugh, my personal blog hero. I woke him up with frantic text messages stating “the blog is down, the blog is down, the blog is down!!!!” and he immediately go to work to fix the problem. Adam, I owe you!
Breakfast was a Kashi waffle sandwich with almond butter and preserves with a hard boiled egg on the side:
I did manage 75 minutes of a Dave Farmar yoga podcast. I was super crackly this morning but it felt so good to stretch and strengthen every inch of me….even though all three animals were crawling all over my mat the entire time. 😉
The real highlight of my day was a special delivery!!!!!!!
Lia, I love you!!!!!! Lia lives in the Swiss Alps and sent me a HUGE care package full of chocolates and other Swiss goodies. I immediately dug into the 72% dark and it was pure bliss. What is life without dark chocolate, I ask?! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
After my chocolate eating, I did pause for a quick lunch:
A cup of Pacific Brand tomato soup, leftover baked tofu and a huge juicy nectarine. Yum.
I’m in quite a rush right now because I have to be somewhere with my parents in 30 minutes and haven’t even showered yet (ew, I know). However, I do feel really compelled to share this verse with you from my quiet time last night:
“So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious…really serious. Get on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll ever get on your feet” James 4: 7-10

August 31, 2009 at 2:13 pmThanks again for the Bible verse. This is the second time today that I’ve read this verse or rather a similar verse. God speaks to us in so many different ways and today I feel he is speaking to me through you and another of my friends!
Drooling over your chocolate 🙂
Lizzie
August 31, 2009 at 2:15 pmI can’t eat milk chocolate anymore – the dark is just so good. Highly recommend Taza brand. I love Pacific soups too – they’re easy to transport and heat up – though your soup looked a little lonely . . maybe it would enjoy some grated cheddar cheese to accompany it? 🙂

August 31, 2009 at 2:17 pmFabulous morning post Jenna. That really touched home in my books. I have a very similar story to yours in recently finding my happy medium. I think a lot of it has to do with the things we go through in life, which make us much wiser, and less worried about the silly things in life. It is much more important to have a STRONG body, level mind and live your life to the fullest (which includes indulging in your favorite foods, in a healthy way).
The post lifted my spirts today, so thank you for that! Have a great day Jenna.

August 31, 2009 at 3:13 pmHey Jenna- Thank you so much for both posts today. They have really helped. My car got towed from my apartment last week and I had to pay $200 in cash to get it back. I tried to file a complaint today, and now, I can’t help crying. I have no appetite and really don’t want to go to class, but after reading your words, I feel a little better. Thanks for everything. I look forward to your next adventures.

August 31, 2009 at 3:33 pmI just wanted to compliment you on the most delicious breakfasts that you make. You’re the one that made me tweak the idea of putting peanut butter in my oatmeal, and it’s so yummy. I’m addicted! The Kashi waffle sandwich sounds like a fine idea too.
Thanks for sharing that verse.

August 31, 2009 at 4:39 pmI love the way The Message just makes things so clear some days. No pussyfooting around…just do it right.
BTW I love care packages and swiss chocolate. I think I bought an entire suitcase full when I went to Biel and Neuchatel on vaction while studying in spain. European chocolate is so much better 🙂 That reminds me I have a 90% dark bar in my desk.

August 31, 2009 at 4:58 pmAll of that chocolate sounds amazing! I mean, any chocolate is amazing…but genuine swiss choclate?! Yes please!!!

August 31, 2009 at 6:04 pmI love Kashi waffles! My favorite is the strawberry flax! I tried the blueberry with PB and wasn’t thrilled with it! You are so inspirational! Loved your quote!
Suzanne
August 31, 2009 at 6:27 pmI think it’s sad that your version of the Bible leaves God’s name out. Using Jehovah’s name makes him even more real and makes it easier to talk to him in prayer.
Thanks for the idea of the waffle sandwich. I’ve done that a few times now and I love it! I think AB is so great and much better than PB on some things. And I’m jealous, I wish someone would send me a care package of dark chocolate – love the stuff! 🙂
Courtney
August 31, 2009 at 7:13 pmMmmm…that waffle sandwich looks delish and I just might have to whip one up for myself soon!
Thanks for that verse, it really resonated with me.
