I miss the ocean.

Pacific……Atlantic….just give me waves at night and I’m a happy girl.

I can’t even believe that last week I stood at the shores of both oceans. Welllllllll almost. I saw the Pacific on Saturday from a high cliff then ran back inside because my flip flopped toesies were freezing.

This morning I was rushing and in my rush, ate a bowl of yogurt from the coffee shop next to the yoga studio for a midmorning snack since I ate breakfast at around 6 in Gualala! Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture because my hands were full and I was running late but imagine a huge bowl of plain yogurt topped with candied pecans, dried cherries and honey. It was delicious but SUPER filling!

Exercise felt nice, too. I ran 2 miles and then did level 1 of the 30 day shred. Oh Jillian, where have you been? I haven’t done her Shred workout since last Spring and oh, it burned. I think I’m going to try to do it as much as possible (for 30 days? Perhaps?) because its only 20 minutes and I’d like to tone up a bit. I still was pretty full from the gigantic bowl o yogurt, but made a light lunch after exercising so I wouldn’t crash later.

Question for you – – what size dumbells do you use with The Shred? I just did it two weeks ago fro the first time in ages and I hurt SO bad the next day it was crazy. I did it again last week and I was in much better shape afterwards than the first time.

A hard boiled egg on split pea soup? That looks interesting! Looking forward to reading the recipe.

I’ve yet to try Jillian’s 30 Day shred, I’m tempted to though. Since I won’t have a gym membership in a couple of months and I definitely need some ideas regarding strength training exercises.

Hope you enjoy your library book! Props to you for utilizing one of this country’s greatest public services!

I recently have been given the task of compiling health book newsletters for subscribing patrons at my library (I’m nearly a professional librarian… 1 1/4 semesters!). I need help! I thought, “Who better to turn to than all the wonderful health bloggers out there?!” If you have any suggestions for me, pleases check out this post and leave a comment: http://lifeinthestacks.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/health-books/.

I’m about to hit the Shred for the 3rd day in a row. I’m pretty fit and thought I’d move up to level 2 quickly, but I think it will take a good week to 10 days to move up. I guess my good cardio shape doesn’t do much for strength moves!
